Video: Nas Delivers Color of Change Petition to Fox News

Posted by 4PL

I don’t care what anyone says I’m proud of Nas. No one is perfect but he continually shows us his constant eveolution as a man and human being.

Rap superstar Nas who has the #1 selling album on the Billboard charts, teamed up with Color of Change to deliver a petition to Fox news demanding that they cease there racist attacks on Black Americans especially there biased attacks on presidential hopeful Barack Obama and his family. If you remember Nas got into it with Bill OReily who is host of that garbage racist show OReily factor after Oreily lobbied to have Nas removed from a tributr concert to honor those killed in the Virginia Tech Massacre. Check the Video Below of Nas presenting the petition to Fox News in front of their NYC offices and then peep the video of the Colbert report coverage of the whole event.

Who else has the balls to do that? In today’s hip hop ignorance is bliss and social irrelavence is even better. Hip Hop is the voice of a culture, but most of our more prominant artist choose to play the back, or attempt to discredit those who speak out(50 Cent, Jim Jones). I realize that everyone cant do it, some aint built for it, but atleast they could back the man/women who are. It’s alot more to life than money, but since most of these cats get in the game for that reason alone, they cant see anything else. I remember when i was coming up, if you didnt have lyrics, you didnt rap. You NEVER heard a “MC” say “I aint no rapper”. If you did say that, you would quickly be written off. I hear alot of that these days, crazy shit is these are the fuckers who sell. How you can you call yourself hot today and say you not a rapper tomorrow? Maybe its me, I probaly take the shit too serious. I only listen to a handfull of artist and Nas is at the top of my list. The term “Staying Power” is not used enough in Hip Hop, mainly because few have it. Nas has it. I hate to use the old cliche but…”If you dont stand for something, you’ll fall for anything”. The measure of an artist success is not measured by sales, its measured by the effectiveness, delivery, legitimacy, and power of his/her message. Stop Playin Wit Me!!!!!
