Turn Off Ur Radio And log onto TOUR-MAG.com
The Online magazine labeled as the Voice of the Independents
People in the Nation regularly ask me how can you write a Hip Hop blog if all you do is sh*t on Hip Hop. Well first of all, I love hip hop…the culture. It is who I am, I couldn’t deny her even if I wanted to because it is who I am. Secondly hip hop’s prodigal son, its music: hip hop/rap is what I carry a major gripe with.
Since writing this blog over the last two years I’ve had the opportunity to really spend some quality time on the net and blogosphere searching for some music that I ACTUALLY LIKE! I can’t listen to the radio any more and when I’m in the car, which is often, I’m using listening to sports radio or traffic. Throughout my cyber-travels I’ve run across some really cool people, dope emcees and one really cool music destination…Tour-Mag.com.
This morning while paging through my daily blog reads on my RSS reader, I found myself at Tour-Mag, totally engrossed in a really well written Feature/ Interview on the Hip Hop protege’s, Kidz in the Hall. I won’t spoil it to much for you but if you’re at all interested in the duo I highly suggest you check it out…matter of fact I recommend you add Tour-Mag.com to your RSS subscriptions.
Labeled as an online magazine designed to be “the voice of the independents” Tour-Mag features videos, articles, interviews, fashion trends and more. The best part about it is you won’t find a whiff of Lil Wayne anywhere! Although initially launched in July 2005, the site which is short for Turn Off ‘Ur Radio Magazine was recently refreshed with a banging new layout that instead profiles the likes of up-and-comers like Brooklyn Native Theophilus London or Lauren Hill ringer, Jazmine Sullivan. Not sure who they are well neither was I and that’s the great part. I got to discover something new; after all isn’t that what Hip Hop is all about?
Tour-Mag doesn’t stop with just the microphone either. They’re you’ll be introduced to the hottest new producers and those behind the vocal artists we love plus keep up with latest in urban fashion trends. The site has it all. Tour-Mag isn’t without its bugs however…The navigation and archive functions aren’t optimal but updates to the site seem to be fixing those problems daily. Hell Highbrid Nation, as I’m sure you all have seen recently hasn’t been without its problems so I can’t hate. So when you get a chance, check it out, Tour-Mag.com. Aight i’m off my soapbox.
