BUSINESS MATTERS: Kimora Lee Simmons Teams with JCPenny To launch ‘Fabulosity’
New juniors clothing line
Less than a full month after taking her ex-husband to the cleaners in a divorce filing claiming his departure left her cupboards bare, Baby Phat “founder” Kimora Lee Simmons has partnered with JCPenney to launch her new juniors line, Fabulosity.
Appropriately enough, the first collection will feature exclusive back-to-school peices designed to reflect Baby Phat’s traditional style with a more JCPenny-like pricing structure ranging from $29 to $109 (compared to Baby Phat’s $30-$200 range). Although primarily a clothing line at launch, Fabulosity is believed to emerge into a full-lifestyle collection featuring shoes, accessories, handbags, and even a home collection.
“The Fabulosity girl is fun, fashionable and chic, but she doesn’t want to spend her last penny on something to wear. This collection is fashionable, but also affordable. The days of spending tons on clothes are gone - I mean, I still do it, but young girls can’t,” said Simmons.
