The biggest contradictors on FOX are The Simpsons. They go out there way to dis the network and owner whom they work for…if you are going to kill Nas then be fair.

I dont have an issue with it..how many of us have lousy jobs or bosses so what you cant dis ‘em cuz you ‘re paying your rent with the income you earned from them?

FOX as usual was out of line and he called them out thats it and thats all.

Now if you wonder how can Matt Groening and Em make a buffoon out of Murdoch and remain on the air?

Well one he’s a billionare but two he got there becuz of The Simpsons (something he didnt create re: I aint got to spend my money..it was already in place, this is the pattern he and Bob Johnshon perfected, “24″ and American Idol are British imports, to quote a Nas song “No Idea [at Fox] is Original” in Britian 24 is based off of the British Intell Srvice called MII8).

He took over the netwrok from the old MGM boss Kervorkian (no not him!!!) around 89 and The Simpsons officially dropped in 90 or 91 since then ITS STILL THE ONLY REASON TO WATCH A FOX primetime show.

And it has made The Simpsons Cast and Crew and Creators stupid dumb rich. But when they have a beef they realized as creative types they have only one outlet. Nas is in the same boat, whats he supposed to do launch a colonge and clothing line?

Nas sold out years ago after Illmatic. He needs the PR to sell his album, which will not go platinum. 700K at best. He sounds very ignorant and uneducated when he speaks. He buys jewels from JACOB. NAS does not do free concerts, that doesn’t even make sense. The only shows artists don’t get paid for are radio and promo dates and even then expenses are paid by the radio station or the label. Fans but to much faith and belief in these artists as if they are really trying to help the people. He is trying to sell records. Most artist live check to check just like regular people. Its just on a larger scale.

In my opinion, Nas is not selling out,he is performing a free concert for myspace user’s, not Rupert Murdoch (owner). What people don’t seem to understand about him is he does what he wants to….when he wants to. If you just listen to his poetry & don’t go off into the business or political aspect, you would respect him enough to know he wouldn’t wait THIS LONG to SELL OUT!

Yo let me put yall on to something you might not know….ALL RAPPERS CONTRIDICT THEMSELVES. Everybody is so quick to point out Nas, but what about the other cats out there? Do yall really think all these cats are gangstas, drug dealers, killers and all that shit? Whoever you listen to, you can go track for track and find contriditions in there music as well. So what you telling me is that you wouldnt do it? Is he even getting paid for this shit? corporate America will always get the upper hand regardless of who the artist is or what they say. Hip Hop itself is corporate sun, c’mon. Think about his message, what better platform could you ask for???!!!

Nas is definitely one of the greats, but hey you can’t fault him. In his past because he stood so strongly within his opinions he missed out on alot of cake. He’s wit his boy HOV now so, Hov probably told him grab you have to grab any and all checks that you can. Nas is a smart cat he always keeps cats guessing, and questioning his actions or thoughts. Advantage Nas for keeping himself and his rhymes in constant discussion. Whether we feel he contradicts himself or not he stays on cats minds and on blogs!

How stringent are his arguments then if he goes to the same hand he just bit for bread. Its almost like corporate America gets even more of the upper hand on him. There are plenty of other avenues he could have taken. Plus the timing is a bit quizzical.

i think he does shit on purpose. he is the most criticized artist anyway…fuck it, give’em something to talk about. the wild shit is that all you mawfuckas would do the same fuckin thing. mawfuckas kill me with that. like you would be so different. its suicide to have an opinion in hip hop, if you spit mindless bullshit, people love you and never question you. but say something that make a mawfucka think, they’ll be on your ass. they rappers people, not politicians.

Great post. I really think you have a grasp on the whole issue and I completely agree.
Saying one thing and doing another?
But then again… you have to ask yourself…
Is there really that many people out there that wouldnt sell there soul regardless of what they believe or say?
I mean, especially recently I have found many people (my so called friends included) to be culprits of saying one thing and doing another… It’s like I can not get away from that concept.
Anyone and everyone is looking for a chance to get up one more notch in this life, and will do whatever it takes regardless of the repercussions it may bring as long as it benefits them.
Is it hip-hop or is it just or society in general?
I love how you included that in saying “Our generation as a whole”.
That is beyond reality. No one is credible.

ah excellent post. I would love it if Nas himself read this. I would love to see how he explains it. I do beleive Nas educates himself on many a subject but maybe not all the ones he should.
