More Police Brutality: 19 LAPD Officers Face Punishment Over Rally Beatdown

Use of batons and non-lethal ammunition seen as “excessive” force

Police Brutality

19 LA cops are facing disciplinary measures following video footage that has recently been released showing LA riot police using batons, rubber bullets and other force to subdue demonstrators and journalists after a small group of agitators threw things at police during an immigration rights rally last year.

Following an investigation by internal affairs, Cmdr. Richard Webb said there was enough evidence to  hand down a recommendation to Chief William Bratton who will decide what punishment the officers will receive for their beatdown during a May Day rally in MacArthur Park.  Critics have been outraged that none of the reprimanded officers are of significant rank. Peep the video…it doesn’t lie

Wow I wonder what part of “leave the park” dont people understand?? I guess if people just left they wouldn’t have gotten hurt. People want none lethal weapons and they got none lethal weapons!!!! It was a bit extreme but I figured it was gonna see a kicking and punching baton to the face style brutality, but I didnt see that during the video. Obviously some other things happened off camera but cant speak on that because I didnt see it…
