I’ve been so disgusted with the New York Mets Mets all season as I’m sure all my fellow Mets Fans have been.  We suffered through one of the greatest choke jobs in the history of the sport last fall and this season the team has looked lethargic and less than interested.  I understand that for them like with our own jobs its exactly that a job but a job that many of us would kill to have not to mention make the money they do.

So when it came time for the All Star ballots to be distributed, I refused to stamp mine in protest and from the looks of it, many of my fellow Mets Fans have done the same.  Perennial all-stars like Carlos Beltran, Johan Santana, Jose Reyes and David Wright were all passed over receiving very meager fan support in the balloting.

However last year, MLB instituted a new Final Vote campaign as a last chance to vote your favorite players to the game.  MLB selects 5 stars for the fans to vote on and low and behold one such person is Mets 3B, David Wright.  I’ve been pleased with the level of effort over the last couple of weeks and the team has displayed a newfound level of spunk and fight under new manager, Jerry Manuel.  Last night after holding on to a once 9 run lead the Mets went over the .500 win percentage mark for the first time in over a month.  So to reward them I’m stamping my endorsement for David Wright as the final National League All-Star and encourage my fellow Highbrid Nation Mets Fans (including Lexicon167 and MegaHighBeast aka Richard Coleman III) to VOTE DAVID WRIGHT!   I’ve created this image in support.  Feel free to post it on your blogs or social networks.  You can vote by following this link or going to MLB.com.
