Master P Parnters With Wal-Mart To Bring P. Miller Clothing To the Masses At Affordable Prices
These are the type of clothing label announcements that I like to report
Business tycoon, Percy Miller more commonly known to the Nation as Master P has partnered once again with megastore, Wal-Mart to distribute his P Miller clothing line exclusively through the Wal-Mart franchise nationwide at affordable prices. The deal makes P the first African-American urban line to be featured in Wal-Mart stores. No matter how corny P is or what you think of Wal-Mart you can’t deny the man’s hustle and desire to make a difference.
“I figured out a way to make clothes affordable for inner-city families. We use the same factories and the same materials as Sean John, Rocawear, and Ed Hardy. These are quality clothes you’d normally find at a department store like Macy’s. Now you can pick up the same high-end fashion at an affordable price…This is the makings of a great partnership with the number-one retailer in the world. Together we’re making it cool to shop for clothes at Wal-Mart.”
According to Hip Hop DX reporter Edwin Ortiz, Kids will be able to cop a T-shirts for ten bucks, a $45 to $70 value with a more expensive urban label or Jeans for $20 which might easily run $100 if adorned with a Sean Jean or Roc-A-Wear logo.
We’ve seen this before with NBA baller, Stephon Marbury and his Starbury Collection at Steve & Barry’s but this is by far on a larger scale…Wal-Mart is THE largest brand in the U.S. The concept however is the same…by getting kids to recognize that not all clothing needs to be expensive, P hopes to prevent kids from getting in fights and being bullied at school cause of their gear. Whether or not the idea works long term remains to be seen but given the nature of these tough economic times its refreshing to see someone at least attempting to make a real difference. Salute! Shout to Hip Hop DX.
