Award winning Gospel artist turned barely average R&B artist Michelle Williams was sounding slightly bitter on one of her recent blogs when discussing her getting play on BET…

“A lot of you guys are wondering why it’s not on BET!!! Well how can I say this without starting any drama……..it may not be “urban” enough!!! Whatever the hell that means!!! (this is the political foolishness we artists go through on a daily basis)”

However before I got a chance to hit publish on this post, it looks like Michelle went in ans cleaned up her previous statement with a new blog post.

Hey y’all I wanted to be clear to you guys about BET. They did not reject my video for not being urban. It was just given to the channel this week as my urban radio plan is starting to take effect. The political side that I was referring to was how things happen in stages not always at the time that artist want it, it is a process! My video actually aired on BET yesterday on BET Now which I hosted and I will be hosting another episode on Friday as well. BET is supporting me (I know you guys want to see my in rotation on the channel and I was trying to address the many questions) and you will see break the dawn on the channel in the weeks to come so keep checking back for dates.

I somehow knew Michelle was a bit smarter than to make an enemy of BET because there is no way she’s gonna get in regular rotation on MTV. She may be in her 20’s but Michelle looks like she’s creepin’ up on 40 and that’s not exactly the teeny bopper look they like over at MTV.

Who knows why her video hasn’t shown up on BET. Maybe it’s politics like she says or maybe someone over at BET shares my feelings that Michelle’s voice sounds like the slow death of a penguin.

I tried to find Michelle’s video to embed in this post just to make myelf look better than BET but her stupid label has disabled it from being embeded on sites (really ungenius from a marketing perspective). I was able to find this video of some stan though…
