Lil Wayne Beefs with Sharpton on ‘Misunderstood’ Who Humors Him With A Reponse

Posted by Juan

This is so Silly

Lil Wayne And Al Sharpton

On the track “Misunderstood,” Lil Wayne had some venom for Rev. Al “Captain African America” Sharpton:

“You see, you are no MLK/ You are no Jesse Jackson/ You are nobody to me/ You’re just another Don King with a perm/ Just a little more political/ And that just means you a little more un-human/ Than us humans/ And now let me be human by saying/ F**k Al Sharpton and anyone like him.”

Why Sharpton even responded is beyond me but here it is:

“While some of the rappers don’t like the fact that Rev. Sharpton has been leading marches against the degradation of women in music, a Gallup poll released last week revealed that Rev. Sharpton has a 50% approval rate among African-Americans. So why dignify a response to one rap artist who doesn’t even say anything substantive.”

A couple of things of note here. Has emceeing been that diluted to the point where these cats feel compelled to diss polititicans? What has Captain African America ever done to you Wayne? Secondly, Sharpton is BOASTING a 50% approval rating?! Last time I checked 50% was failing on a test…might not want to make that one too public brother.

Since when is Lil Wayne socialy conscious? Al Sharpton is on another level. As an MC, you are your music, Wayne is notoriouos for putting out music that lacks substance. He can spit about street shit till the cows come home, but going political is a different animal.

For the life of me i can’t see how a rapper like Lil Wayne, steals somebodyelses style (Jay-Z, run with it and call himself the greatest rapper, (in my SHONUFF voice) NIGGA PLEASE. Wayne wasn’t even rapping like that when he first started. To attack somebody like Al Sharpton, you out of line man, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of line. That man did and still doing great things for people of color. Don’t let the doo mess with you too much, that’s a Sharp brother, and Lil Wayne, you couldn’t debate that man he’ll swallow that ass up. You ain’t ready for that type of word play. SMH

See that’s what happens when you mix a “Greatest Rapper Alive” wanna be, with a politician! At least Al Sharpton is ABOUT something and unlike Lil Wayne ON something! Lil Wayne just needs to realize, you can’t dis everybody! Some people are just in a greater league than you! So just stick with those Mix tapes that made a name for yourself, that you keep on dissing! And by the way, the next time you want someone to take you seriously. You might want to stay from words like “I am a martian”! That just shows, where your intelligence is and its not in a mind state to battle an intelligent monkey! So do the world a favor, Dr. Carter, and keep your opinions to subjects you can handle! Oh and before I end this comment, before you go announce that your the “Greatest Rapper Alive” why don’t you put more intelligence in your raps before trying to speak intelligence to others! Because no one has time to learn Lil Wayne tongue or what ever your calling yourself these days!
