Saigon Denies Signing With Jay-Z/ Roc Nation…Sort of

Posted by Juan

Is he using Jay as leverage for a lucrative deal somewhere else?

Saigon

Saigon’s departure from Atlantic Records made a lot of headlines over the last two weeks. Although I’m not sure why. Free agent artists are more common these days than athletes. However rumors have surfaced and perhaps sell perpetuated that Saigon might already have his landing spot over at Jay-Z’s newly formed Roc Nation. Saigon recently addressed the rumors, during an interview with MTV.

“Rumors are gonna be rumors. You can’t fight the rumors. Just Blaze and Jay-Z are good friends. … It’s gonna be big. Where we go is gonna be big. It’s gonna make history.”

If you ask me sounds like a Scott Boras or Drew Rosenhaus (famous sports agents) tactic. If can some how convince potential suitors that the Biggest fish is interested they’ll be more inclined to secure a more lucrative or more timely offer. We’ll see how it plays out. I’d be willing to bet however that for Jay’s first acquisition he’ll be looking to make a humongous splash off the bat as is evidenced by his past (ie: Brining Michael Jackson on Stage as his “guest” as Summer Jam back in 2000.) Don’t think Hip Hop… think more global. I wouldn’t think Saigon has that type of draw but time will tell.
