Marketing Matters: Budweiser U.S. Troop Commercial

Posted by Marcus "Dos Un" Holmes

a wise appeal to one’s emotions

I often hear the “our troops need to come home” chants but most of our society doesn’t even think about the people who give their all to protect this country even if we don’t agree with the reasons.  It’s kinda the cool thing to say ti seems.  Well Budweiser created an ad that should make us all think about and more appreciate our people.  Things like this should happen in real life.  Make them feel how they should.  Nice touch Bud, appeal to the emotions and have a cold one while you think about it.

I made my way cross country one day and found myself sitting in an airport for about three hours on a layover. Far off in the distance I could hear cheers until a roar came over ther terminal. The troops were coming through.

It didn’t stop there though… At least five groups of uniformed troops marched through the terminal in a span of 45 minutes. Everyone was greeted with cheers and smiles.

All I could think about was that commercial.
