4Pl told you last week that MTV released its so called “hottest” emcees in the game.

Being a high profile media outlet of course the list would generate controversy. First man up to beef? A man whose no stranger to voicing his opinion, burning bridges and flat out telling people eff you…Enter Mr. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.

“I shouldn’t even be on that list,” 50 said. “To be honest, I shouldn’t even be categorized with them [other MCs on the list]. It doesn’t even matter. Look at the people who are actually creating the list. None of them have made a hit record or [borne] the pressure of doing it. Not necessarily the artists now,” he said. “Artists who have previously created hit records, that understand the art form.”

“I’ve been saying that list is irrelevant, if you really want to make a legitimate list off all the hottest MC’s in the game right now, artists would have to be able to vote on who the hottest MC’s are as well as authorities in the industry such as Djs, Media websites and Bloggers the ones who have direct contact with the people who listen to the music.”

I personally look at that list and feel like throwing up. If this truely is a representation of the games elite then its a bad referendum on Hip Hop music. That’s terrible. I’d have to agree with 50 wholeheartedly that the us bloggers plus DJ’s and artists would have to contribute to make the list more comprehensive but the fact remains just like the heavyweight boxing division…there’s no superstars in the game no more.
