Bow Wow Retires From Rap To Concentrate On Movie Career

Posted by Juan

Young rapper calls it quits

Bow Wow

After 16 years at any job one might start thinking about moving on and that’s exactly what Bow Wow did yesterday. Making his debut at the age of 13 as a gimmick on a Snoop Dogg tour, Bow Wow has spent most of his life in the rap game under the wing of producer/ mogul/ cornball Jermaine Dupri.

Bow Wow whose real name is Shad Moss will now focus a potentially more lucrative acting career. Bow Weezie has of course had roles in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Roll Bounce and is slated to star in the upcoming films Patriots and Driving Lessons. He has also taken a recurring role in HBO’s Entourage. Bow Wow will play “Charlie”, a stand-up comic who is one of Eric “E” Murphy’s few clients.

“After 16 years in the music industry and six successful albums, I’ve decided to shift my energy to something else I’m passionate about, acting,” Bow Wow tells The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m going to try to be the next Will Smith.”

I honestly do wish little man well however acting is much different from music. In acting you can’t rely on your giggly teenage fans to inflate your sales numbers. Judging from his rolls in some of the other flicks he won’t be confused with Denzel Washington. My advice? Take some of your loot and hire the best acting coach you can find. But who am right?

good point juan. even though many of his teen fans will show up to his movies, it will take years of hard work + dedication for him to be on will or denzel’s level.
