Martin Scorsese Bounces on Bob Marley Project Citing “Scheduling Conflict”

Posted by Juan

The politically correct way of saying “These Marley’s are nuts”

Bob Marley

Remember we were telling you about all the drama surrounding the two Bioflick/ Documentaries on the legendary Bob Marley? Well looks like it finally reached a head this week when Martin Scorsese bounced.   Alhtough Billboard is reporting Scorsese has dipped due to “scheduling conflicts,” but I wouldn’t doubt that all the family shenanigans didn’t have something to do with it.

Jonathan Demme will replace Scorsese as director on Tuff Gong Pictures/ Shangri-La Entertainment documentary. Demme last worked with Shangri-La Entertainment on Neil Young’s documentary “Heart of Gold.”

The project is slated for a Feb. 6, 2010 to coincide with Marley’s 65th birthday according to executive producer Ziggy Marley.

Probably a money issue. One thing about the Marley’s, similar to the Hendrix’s, and the Preley’s they know their deceased kins work and life story is worth mega loot. So u must break bread to use it. The Marleys are very rich and aint pressed for dough so there not going to accept short change for a movie about their pops and their not going to support some half ass effort. Personally I don’t think you could put Bob Marley’s life in a movie he’s influence in music is monumental and his presence even to this day is undeniable these things can’t be summed up in 120 minutes
