I really don’t know what to make of this one here.  Last week the New York State Assembly passed a resolution dubbing today “No Profanity Day.” In celebration Hip Hop TRUE pioneers are celebrated in the Bronx today with a curse-free concert hosted by Kurtis Blow.

The concert which will be held at Utopia’s Paradise Theater is a kickoff event for the No Profanity Hip-Hop Anniversary Tour.  Scheduled to perform are legends including Afrika Bambaataa & the Soul Sonic Force, Grand Wizard Theodore, Grandmaster Mele Mel, Lovebug Starski, Spoonie Gee, Rob Base, Dana Dane, DJ Hollywood, Positive K, the Force MDs and The Air Force Crew and of course Kurtis Blow.

So for those of you who were “rocking to the best” you can see Hip Hop in all its glory today.  I’m just really confused by the “No Profanity Day” tie in.  Hip Hop has always tried to be cool…that’s not cool.  Honestly its really corny.  I don’t curse…well a lot but I don’t need to create resolutions and get awards for that.  I don’t get it.  Anyway for those of you going you’ll have a great time…should be a classic.   Speaking of Classic…did you ever see this interview we did with Grandmaster Mele Mel?
