Posted by Juan

GOP War vet supprts Obama because of ‘his strength and ability to bring people together’

Barack Obama

Over the past few month’s MoveOn.org has been asking Obama supporters to upload their own :30 Pro-Obama commercials as part of its Make Your Own Obama Ad contest. With 1100 entries and more than 5.5 million total votes cast, the results are in. The winning ad comes from former Air Force Staff Sgt. John Weiler, a life-long Republican who says he is supporting Obama because of “his strength and ability to bring people together.”

From among 15 amazing finalists, a panel of top filmmakers, artists, musicians, and progressive heroes including Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Oliver Stone, Naomi Wolf, Markos Moulitas, Russell Simmons and Jesse Jackson picked the winning ad, “Obamacan.”

Now the site is accepting donations to reach the $250,000 it needs to get the spot broadcast on television. Feel so inclined, click here to make a donation.

  2. Do you think the fact that he is a republican and a vet had anything to do with him winning?

Kinda related, kinda not but FYI anyway–
Rev. Kirbyjon H. Caldwell, a black pastor of the Windsor Village United Methodist Church in Houston, endorses Obama and also officated the Jenna Bush/Henry Hager marriage this past week.
