Finally after six years of legal procrastination, jury selection is underway in Chicago for R. Kelly child pornography case. But perhaps the most interesting development is being reported by the The Chicago Sun-Times. Friday, the newspaper reported that the same witness who we reported will testify she engaged in a ménage a trois with Kelly and the alleged underage girl was actually recently paid off by one of the Kelly’s aides to return an incriminating sex tape to his camp. Uh oh!

It is not clear how much Kelly’s aide allegedly paid the woman, but a source has said she was once in love with the singer and has received immunity from state and federal prosecution in exchange for her testimony.

Hmmm…is it me or does this woman’s limited description resemble that defunct singer, “Sparkle?” If in fact the witness did receive immunity that would answer my question I asked in my previous post about her criminal involvement. Federal immunity alone would be necessary to protect her from charges of transporting child pornography across state lines.

During the April hearings, the judge was told that the Kelly aide offered the Atlanta woman money for a sex tape featuring Kelly. The paper is also reporting that Kelly’s aide actually arranged a polygraph test for the witness to determine whether she was telling the truth about having the tape. Once it was determined she did the woman received money and arranged for the tape to be sent to Kelly’s camp. It doesn’t however appear from the reports that Kelly knew about any of these shenanigans.
