TMZ is reporting that New Jersey Nets foward, Richard Jefferson is going to be charged with one count of misdemeanor assault stemming from an incident that took place in January.

Jefferson allegedly got in a “minor verbal disagreement” at the Graves 601 Hotel in Minneapolis which apparently lead to the point where Jefferson was on top of the victim choking him.Â After the altercation, Jefferson left the club where he was stopped by an eyewitness who asked Jefferson to remain until the disagreement was sorted out. According to the incident report, the witness says Jefferson responded, “Say another word, I will kick your ass.”

Nice… at least be good before you talk smack.
