Michael (Tristan Wilds) From the Wire to Star in Beverly Hills 90210 Redux.

Posted by Juan

As much as it tears me up to see the actors move on from “The Wire”…like children, we’ve gotta let them go.

Tristan Wilds

Tristan Wilds, 19, who played fan favorite, “Michael Lee” in the final two seasons of the best TV drama of all time, “The Wire,” has packed his bags and traded his .45 and the Baltimore drug hustle in for the star studded streets of Southern California as the newest cast member of the CW’s Beverly Hills, 90210 2.0.

Wilds has been cast to play “Dixon“, the adopted son of the Mills family, which has moved to Beverly Hills because of his grandmother’s drinking problem “Tabitha Mills” (Jessica Walter).

When I first saw this I was like “ahhhh man. That’s wack.” I think more so than anything its a testament to the quality of the Wire and my respect for the show. Its going to be hard to see those characters that we’ve grown to know and love play other roles. But that’s what an actor does and I respect the hustle. Its just a reality check for me that the ride is over…no more wire. Good luck Tristan.
