U.S. Supreme Court Ruling Could Supress Black Voting Rights
Sneaky underhanded ruling by conservative high court could discourage black voters
Looks like the Republicans have made the first decisive yet covert move in the battle for the white house. Last week the U.S. Supreme Court ruled last week that states can require voters to produce photo identification in order to cast their ballots. Although this may not seem like a huge deal, this is a tremendously damning blow to Democratic party and could lead to a smaller Black vote come November.
Civil and voting rights activists have said that these photo ID requirements were part of a indirect tactic used by the Republican Party to make it more difficult for Blacks and other minorities to vote. However, in a 6-to-3 decision, the conservative party dominated high court upheld a strict photo ID requirement in Indiana and at least six other states will follow suit. The ruling could create a pattern of similar laws.
Strict voter ID laws have long been opposed as they are considered a means to inhibit voting behavior but have been pushed by Republicans in effort to eliminate “voter fraud.” Let the games begin. (Shout to 11.12.74)

Did you hear the one about the Clinton campaign sending out voter registration forms to already registered voters in minority neighborhoods of IN and NC last week?
First… it’s too late to register. Second: some are speculating that it’s being done in order to confuse people into thinking that they are not registered when they are.
Ranks right up there with the 2000 election, when signs on light polls reminded people to vote on WEDNESDAY (the day after the election).
