Wesley Snipes paid back $5 Million of His Taxes But Still Got Knocked in The Head

Posted by Juan

Fair and Equal Justice at Work

Wesley Snipes

New information is coming out regarding the day of Wesley Snipes‘ sentencing. According to several reports, Wesley Snipes cut the federal government three checks for $5 million total and delivered them in court just hours before he was to be sentenced Thursday for failing to file income taxes. It is believed that he still owes more in interest and penalties but the IRS has yet to calculate that. The gesture initially too the prosecution by surprise and they initially refused to accept it.

Reading from a prepared apology, Snipes told the court that he made “costly mistakes” and was the victim of crooked advisers, a liability of wealth and celebrity that attracts “wolves and jackals like flies are attracted to meat.”

Even after all this he still was punished to the maximum extent of the law. Seems like our Justice system is real fair huh?!

I think it was a matter of “too little, too late”. I’m sure he’s wishing he hadn’t cut those checks though. That was probably all the money he had to his name.

I’m sure he’s not broke. If anything his friends were really supportive and would have stepped in for him. Maybe him and Woody Harrelson should play The King and Duck to raise money for his taxes.

The three checks totaled $5 million, not $15 million.

Snipes got the same sentence that any one of us would have gotten in the same situation. The federal court system uses a sentencing formula called the “federal sentencing guidelines.”

Maximum penalty though? The IRS and the prosecutors were definitely making an example. I’m willing to bet we’d would have been granted more leniency OR THE CASE WOULDN’T HAVE EVEN BEEN AN ISSUE!
I misread the press release you’re absolutely correct. I thought it was 3x $5million. Thanks for the correction. my fault.

I don’t feel sorry for him. The government is going to make you pay one way or the other. If I have to pay taxes, so does Mr. Snipes.

Nikki,

The thing is…You really don’t have to pay taxes…At least according to our Constitution. At least not taxes without representation and the Federal Income Tax is an unjust and unconstitutional tax. Try to find the actual law that says you MUST pay those taxes. Not IRS ordinance or requirements but THE actual law that requires you to pay this unrepresentatively assessed tax. Go to Freedom of Speech or LINK television web sites and check out their archives for video on the subject. You should be quite surprised and my delight in sharing the information you will find there with friends and family. Good luck and good hunting. Every American should likewise educate themselves. I am not against taxation because I believe in public education, national infrastructure, clean water and air, etc. The IRS operates with a lawless mob mentality and is anything but representative of the needs of America and its citizens. Tax me fairly, spent it wisely, and elimate the police state mode of operation and this Country will swell with success. Mr. Snipes jail sentence is another tactic of fear being used to squelch any truely American attitude suggesting our right to live a life of freedom and liberty. It is quite serious and puts at risk the Constitution our forefathers fought and died for.

Well Said

Bottom line if I don’t pay taxes I go to jail. I don’t give an eff what’s in the constitution. The mother f’ing Declaration of Independence insured Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness for all Americans but we still had 300 years of slavery. I hear what you’re saying but I doubt when I’m standing in court I can say “Well Claudia said…” I feel you sweetheart but do you catch my drift?

As correct as you may be, the IRS and its Income Tax is one of the largest organized schemes under our gov’t. So unless you have the best lawyer money could buy your gunna be swimming with a bunch of piranhas who look at the constitution simply as a piece of paper. Fuck’d up as it may be that’s real life.
