BREAKING NEWS: Detectives in Sean Bell Case Acquited on ALL CHARGES!!!
This is some bullsh*t.
Gescard F. Isnora, Michael Oliver and Marc Cooper were found not guilty on all felony and misdemeanor charges in the November 2006 shooting death of Sean Bell, who died in a hail of 50 police bullets outside a club in Jamaica, Queens. There was some speculation that at least the lesser charges might stick but that was not to be.
THIS IS SOME BULLSHIT!!! I understand they were never going to catch a murder wrap but you mean to tell me they’re in no way responsible for his death?! My man got shot 50 times, never had a weapon on his wedding day and somehow the jury found that these officers were JUSTIFIED?! Justice will be served in this life or the next…rest in peace Sean Bell.
FILED IN News

insane.
I don’t believe their was a jury. The judge had sole responsibility for the decision handed down.
It is truly insane. This is more political based than anything else. They don’t want to go against the good ol’ boys in blue.
Yes you’re absolutely right. I’m watching the news now and realized that. According to the sources inside the courtroom, the judge said the “burden of proof” had not been established. No credible evidence.
WEAK!!!
This site is really great, but the “Honeys” thing is offensive and inappropriate. There is a time and place for everything, and I feel like….how am I trying to read about Sean Bell and looking at some whore’s ass at the same time>
Sorry you find those things offensive. Highbrid Nation covers a wide range of topics and is generally aimed at the “urban professional male” though we love our women readers and enjoy having them partake in the conversation. Me and the rest of the staff take everything said by our readers into consideration and you’ve given us something to discuss in our next meeting. Hope you will still find time to come back and visit us again.
I hear what your saying Toldja but if your reading this article and comments and looking at “whore’s ass at the same time” I think that speaks more to your short attention span than the layout of the site. Or maybe your just a natural Multi-Tasker applaud yourself
Oh, please.
I have to say that I’m proud of our justice system. Everyone was heard from and the prosecution failed to carry it’s burden of proving beyond a reasonable doubt that the officers were wrong. The judge specifically found that none of the major prosecution witnesses were credible and the officers version was more believable.
Proof beyond a reasonable doubt is the standard even when police are charged. Nice to see that they were treated the same as any other defednant when it came to being charged and tried. That they were acquitted speaks to what really happened that night.
Glad to see three good cops able to get on with their lives.
I understand your point…but in a world where the justice system feels the need on one hand to make an example out of Wesley Snipes for tax evasion an example needed to be made here. I
I’m not saying throw the cops under the bus but let it be known in an city where many (not all) NYPD run a muck without responsibility or fear of consequence.
I’m not sure if you’re from New York City, Lagniappe but this is not even a black white issue. POLICE have terrorized communities making certain folks scared to walk the streets in fear of getting shot or arrested or worse for no reason at all.
He’s from West Virginia.
Oh Boy! As a resident of Both New York AND West Virginia (Morgantown)…I can assure you…He has not an idea what law enforcement is like here in New York City. He’s probably never seen an officer run a red light. Might have never seen a read light.
I heard in some places they don’t even have running water there.
Check his post about the case. Let me know what you think.
Obviously a person who doesn’t understand. I won’t go so far as to call him a racist…check that. He is a racist. A very ignorant one at that. What the hell is a “local ne’er-do-well named Sean Bell?” mean?!” This guys is one of those people who thinks black people are savages…ALL OF US “who destroy our own neighborhoods.”
I know Harpers Ferry buddy…a very important incident in Civil Rights history happened IN YOUR TOWN…don’t get it twisted. Or did you think John Brown was the kid from the White Rapper Show. But you’re probably too worried about us savages here in New York to worry about that. What a shame.
You guys kill me–seriously.
I only reside in WV for the time being. I’ve lived in many places around this great country and I actually know quite a bit about law enforcement, NYPD in particular, as well as America’s first terrorist, John Brown. (I’m glad they hung him.)
And for the record, I do not lump all black people into the same category, as you guys appear to do. I’m color-blind. I see people as being either assholes or non-assholes. Bell and his friends and his weird desperate-to-cash-in fiancee were/are assholes in my book. They are also not representative of the many non-asshole friends and acquaintances of mine who also happen to be black.
Now back to the police. They do a tough job, trying to protect the good people from the criminal element and while every now and again a bad apple gets hired, the overwhelming majority of police officers are some of the best people you’ll ever meet, on or off the job. It’s funny how they always get accused or “terrorizing” and “harassing” people, but when you check into it, the only ones making those claims are thugs and thugettes with long criminal records. Some people just beg to be “terrorized and harassed” and if it keeps the scumbags from preying on the decent people, I don’t have such a problem with it.
Ok I don’t know where to begin. But let’s start with your comment that you are color-blind. So you admit to being ignorant because you don’t acknowledge differences within people. Saying that you don’t see race is saying that you don’t see discrimination based on race because you can’t see the target. Being color-blind is something that people want to exist and you probably are color-blind, but the problem with that is that you ignore injustice based on culture when you see nothing but assholes and nonassholes.
Now this whole tribute to police is nice. And you are correct, there are good cops. But under no circumstances will I allow you to make comments about people who are consistently involved with the police. This goes along with my first point. The police regardless of the officers race have demonstrated a bias and consequently “thugs” and “thugettes” are stopped, harassed, and charged more often. Now the causes behind that are many but one thing we do know is that every time the police are tested in simulations, they consistently shoot the black person whether they are armed or not. This research suggests that when they are in the field they are treating blacks and non blacks differently. Meaning they may shoot the black person when there is no need for force.
Clearly you are not the victim of this problem and have decided not to see it, as you remain “color-blind”.
Lol on the last post about the female asses….I was not really surprise about the verdict in the Bell case as Benefield and Guzman seem to be incompetent fools on the stand changing up their stories the whole time in a quest to get that prize of the wrongful death suit money(they lacked credibility). Also everybody seems to forget even if they were found guilty they still would not have gone to jail…first offense misdemeanor of reckless endangerment would have not been any jail time. The Manslaughter was not even in the picture in my opinion, and if you’re thinking murder you don’t have a damn clue about NYS penal law.
I realize that there was a lot of emotion involved in this case and as Mayor Bloomberg and others have said after the decision, there are no winners or losers because regardless of the outcome, a man is still dead and the detectives involved still have to deal with the fact that it was their gunfire that killed him. That trauma is going to stick with them for the rest of their lives.
I think Judge Cooperman made the right decision based on the evidence, or lack thereof, that was given to him. If you remove the emotion and anger factor from the equation and view the facts from an unbiased and logical point of view, the prosecution clearly failed to prove their case.
Joseph Guzman really didn’t help matters with his testimony either. I completely understand that he was angry but whatever you do, you never act out or show a disrespectful attitude the way he did in a courtroom. It’s a cardinal sin and it will hurt your case everytime.
No matter what your opinion of this verdict is, I believe one thing is for certain. The tension thereafter is not going to ease up for a good long while.
Remember Dino these were LAW enforcement agents. Basically officers of our legal system. They are A PART of the same JUSTICE SYSTEM you’re praising. They were wrong…they killed a man who wasn’t a threat…so no it didn’t work.
That asside…If we as NYC citizens can’t feel comfortable that they will do the right by us then how can we walk the street. I’m not blaming the officers. This is about the system. Its a form of domestic terrorism if you think about it.
Why are detectives allowed to make traffic stops in plain clothes and unmarked vehicles in the first place. In a city as violent as New York, late at night you’re stopping for someone who MIGHT be a cop and pulls out a .9 milly on you? Put yourself in Sean Bells shoes and think if our “Justice” system worked here.
Bell made his own choices and died by his own hand. He knew those were police trying to stop him, but his drunk ass wasn’t having any of that. Try to run the police over, you’re pretty much shooting yourself. If it’s a choice between all of the officers going home safe of Bell, I’d rather see the officers survive the night, especially since Bell was making all of the decisions that night.
I agree Juan when you say the officers were wrong but I just have a feeling like there was a little more to this case than we all know…like the possible fourth man that everybody forgot about. their is always three side to a story as we know. The evidence in this case was terrible. It is possible this person go away because original benfield and guzman stated that there was 4 of them meeting up at the club that night. The only way I could see somebody shooting there weapon that many times is if they saw a weapon (or something that appeared to be a weapon.)
With all of this being said all of this back and forth debating we are doing its neither here nor there, becuase Bell is still dead and the officers still have to live with what happened. They were all undercover police, obviously they will never be able to do that anymore. The media basically has shown the public where these officers live, and they will have to face department trial now where the nypd will most likely not support the shooting becuase it was against the nypd rules. (Not allowed to shoot at a moving vehicle when not being shot at from vehicle according to nypd, but its okay in NYS state law)
In response to 4PL statement “SOMETHING DRASTIC HAS TO HAPPEN SOMEBODY NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. SDot was right about one thing though those faggot ass cops will pay for this in this life or the next. Nothing good will come to them their kids, grandkids, or anyone in their family for generations.”
That sounds really ignorant and thats gonna do nothing to solve the problem. What does there family have to do with anything?
a damn shame, it’ll be a hot summer for jakes
I feel sick right now. How can the judge basically say that the officers did absolutely nothing wrong. THEY SHOT THROUGH THE AIRTRAN! Right now the way I feel I want to pull a Dave Chapelle and straight leave America. As a Black Man I dont feel safe here, I always knew that my life wasn’t worth as much as a white persons but today really confirmed it. You got a bitch ass white District Attorney in queens that supposed to be trying to uphold the law and prosecute these fucks but they in bed with the NYPD so they never had any motivation to get a guilty verdict. As we speak the D.A. is on TV congratulating his team. Congratulate on what on a job badly done. The PBA President with his cracka ass has the biggest greasy white boy grin on his face, cause he knows they literally got away with murder. The crazy part about it nothing is going to happen because black people have no leadership, no organization, and no financial power to effect any kind of change. We not even organized enough to go and burn the city down today and off about 100 cops 2 for every shot fired. Were walking around fooled into thinking that racism and inequality don’t exist because some of us have attained financial success or because there are no signs in windows that say “White Only”. Niggas is concerned with they tight jeans, mohawks, and IPods, and who 50 cent is beefin with this week. There’s no revolutionary spirit in us. Thats why cops could wet us up and walk. If this doesn’t convince you that America aint ready for a Black President and that this whole Obama thing is just for show then your blinder than the pigs who were shooting recklessly the night Sean Bell was murdered. SOMETHING DRASTIC HAS TO HAPPEN SOMEBODY NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. SDot was right about one thing though those faggot ass cops will pay for this in this life or the next. Nothing good will come to them their kids, grandkids, or anyone in their family for generations.
This is some str8 up BullShit!! I mean even if one of the officers got convicted that would @ least give ppl a little faith in our so called justice system. The NYPD & the judicial system that defends them already have a bad track record stemming back to Amadou Diallo days. And then the damn judge had the audacity 2 try & justify he’s ruling! WTF! The defense attorneys knew exactly what they were doing when they pushed the officers to go for a judge ruling as opposed to a jury. The jury would’ve hung every last one of their asses. The defense attorneys also did a bang up job of making Sean Bell & his friends seem like a bunch of drunken, trouble making, thugs. My question is……how are young men celebrating a bachelor supposed act? There was no known acts of violence inside the club caused by or involving Sean Bell & his friends so where did the so called “thug” image come from? And what exactly is the excepted behavior of a man celebrating his last night as a bachelor? (By the looks of things…No drinking, no traditional strippers, no enjoyment whatsoever, huh?)
What kind of msg is our legal system & the NYPD sending to civilians? Basically, that the NYPD is LAW & can literally get away w/ murder. What happened to protecting & serving or CPR (Courtesy Professionalism Respect) that they so boldly advertise on the side of their patrol cars? Something’s got 2 give!
Excellent rhetoric Bklyns
What everyone is saying proves my point its the prosecutions office comfortable relationship with the NYPD that had this case sabotaged from the beginning. Dino your right when you say Judge Cooperman made the right decision based on the weak ass case the prosecution brought to the table.
you know, its sad when there is a day that an unarmed man can be shot and killed for what another man(officer of the law)believes he saw.. what does this say for that mans family? his kids? for US? how are his kids supposed to feel about the law when they get old enough to understand what is going on? we sit here and say the law is the law and this is justified and blaah blaah, but when its all said and done, they killed that man..
and if they think YOU moving wrong then YOU DEAD TOO..
ALL MY BLACK BROTHERS AND SISTERS BE CAREFUL..
our lives obviously mean nothing…… P.O.P
I have not paid that much attention till i heard they have not found a gun that sean bell was supposed to have had.If not then he had to have made some kind of move to to make the detectives start shooting.Granted these detectives should have had training in inner city training, and was a terrable thing to have happened ,but to make it a racial incedent is strange considering two of the officer;s where black. To those not familiar WITH THE PHRASE FIRE FIGHT,WHEN ONE STARTS SHOOTING THE ALL DO, granted this kind off thing has happened in the past, but i have seen a time when the police say dont move and they move anyway. I myself am white and after that time when im pulled over and told stay in the car and dont move i freeze. If they where all white i could have more concern about it being racial in motive,no one wants to kill any body ,this is something that will be with them the rest of there lives.Again my heart go;s out to the Bell family
I pose this question to the Nation. Would the outcome have been different if it were a private citizen licensed to carry a gun that felt Sean Bell and his boys posed a threat? OF COURSE…he’s be hanging up by the gallows right now. And that’s regardless of race.
Sadly, after Bumpers, Diallo, Dourisman, and more I feel numb. But like Odeisel wrote over at Allhiphop (http://allhiphop.com/stories/editorial/archive/2008/04/25/19726299.aspx):
“At the heart of this recklessness, you have a mentality rooted in racism, prejudice, and fear driven societal paradigms.”
That’s what’s driving all of this bullshit. People wanna argue over the particulars of this case, but they don’t wanna accept that this type of stuff pops off because of these ‘paradigms’. I feel like Tim Roth staring down the barrel of Sam Jackson’s gun at the end of Pulp Fiction.
The Smoking Gun just released the verdict statement read in courtroom by Judge Arthur Cooperman. Very Interesting. It seems almost as if the officers were somewhat given a pass because regular illegal activities occur in “strip clubs.”
Aren’t strip clubs legal? Maybe the family should sue the club for wrongful death because it was their ability to create an air of suspicion that ultimately drew the attention of the task force that killed Bell. I should be a civil lawyer.
Why not go for it?
Every time I turn around you worked for this company or have lived in this spot. Add that to your resume? You must be at least three pages…
BTW… Great post. The Nation is strong.
Hey everybody make mistakes yes it was “Careless” but not Reckless according to the law. Police officers are people too and do make Lots of mistakes but when it gets into the hands of the media and that clown Sharpton. Things get blown out of proportion. Its not a victory for anyone at this point as those detectives will be sued by the bell family and still may face some federal charges for something else(not too sure yet). I agree 21 Tension is gonna be high this summer on the streets but when has it ever not been???? Trust me I know first hand because I am out there. Either way this decision went it still makes it harder for police in NYC
We know you’re sympathetic to NYPD…its obvious. But its harder for police in NYC?! Give me a break…you’re the ones with the authority to shoot to kill…apparently legally. The justice system of which you’re a part wronged us when Bell was shot at initially. Now it compounded that mistake by letting these officers go without LEGAL reprimand. I can accept a mistake as heinous as it was. I can’t accpet the fact that the system has refused to accept its wrong. This isn’t about Al “Captain African-America” Sharpton this is about Bell and the millions of people who have to walk these streets in fear that YOU will shoot them next and not be held accountable.
4PL: All of us can understand your anger here about the Sean Bell verdict and your justifiable emotions, but please, please do not “do like Dave Chapelle” and leave the USA. That’s exactly what the KKK and the White supremacists want us to do– bring us in as slaves, exploit us for our labor and never pay us for it, then push us out of the United States (to Africa or elsewhere), essentially ethnically cleanse us out. This is why, why I admire Marcus Garvey in many ways, Garvey was stupid to suggest a “Back to Africa” movement. Again, the White racists would like nothing more than to ethnically cleanse Blacks out of the USA.
The only option for us is to stay in the USA and fight. I have many White, Latino, Asian and native American friends who support us on this, so we’re not alone. But we must organize and stand up for ourselves. Let’s put our anger to productive use.
If things are ever going to improve for African-Americans, we have to redouble our efforts to gain social, political and economic power here.
Remember the most important aspect of this: time and demographics are both on our side. Whites now have a birth rate well below replacement in the USA, while the African-American population grows steadily both by natural growth and immigration from Africa, Brazil and the Caribbean. Even some Blacks immigrating to the USA from France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Spain. (BTW if any of you can speak Spanish and/or Portuguese, please encourage our Black brethren in Latin America, especially from Brazil, to emigrate to the USA. There’s strength in numbers.)
I know Blacks and Latinos have often been at loggerheads, but we’re natural allies– both fighting against White oppression, with Latinos having been invaded in multiple wars by the Anglos in Florida, the Mexican-American War and Spanish-American War. Latinos lost half of Mexico when Anglos invaded in 1848, and were ethnically cleansed by Anglos so that they could start slavery in the conquered territories. Blacks and Latinos today are natural partners in the fight for social justice, both fighting for affirmative action and against discrimination. Spanish is an easy language to learn, and the more that we reach out to each other, speak some Spanish ourselves, and support our Latino brothers and sisters, the more our alliance is cemented.
I’d say if anything, the key for us is to gain political power, and to do that, it’s best to concentrate ourselves geographically a bit more in a few states, where we will soon be the majority. On the one hand, we need Blacks throughout the country to demand our rights, but on the other, a better geographical focus is the key to political power, as it is throughout the world’s democratic countries.
IOW, we need to have our own “North American Nubia” where we have a demographic majority and political power. Some Deep South States are obvious candidates– Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana for example, all of which will soon be Black-majority within perhaps a decade. This would be a core of our nation.
But we can have a second North American Nubia (or North American Africana, whichever name you prefer) in the Upper Midwest– Michigan is one of the Blackest states in the Union, and much of Illinois is also strongly African-American in demographics, culture and social importance.
Some of my homies from college have even urged conversion to Islam for African-Americans. It’s not something I’ve considered myself, though I’ll acknowledge that at least for many urban African-Americans, they’ve done quite well after the conversion. Many having been in jail or kept out of jail, they become more focused and disciplined, as fathers they take care of their Black children and care better for Black women, stay away from drugs and violence and so forth. (interesting link a friend sent to me– Nubian Manifesto )
IMHO there are many different personal routes we can take for empowerment, but as a group, we must stay strong and focused and, again, have enough of a geographic concentration that we can gain political power. Just as we should ally with Latinos as they become the majority in their own homelands in Southwestern states and Florida, so should Blacks ally with Muslims in Michigan (who will soon be the majority in that state).
It’s obvious from our people’s history here, that we’ll survive only by standing up for ourselves. Political and economic empowerment are the central aspects of this.
Although I disagree with you on a few points I do understand and respect your stance. Thank you very much for the input.
While I agree that we as “minorities” can have strength in numbers and fight against the forces of white america, we all need to “speak some spanish ourselves”????? Are you kidding me? What the hell does that have to do with anything??
I am starting to feel like you have never discussed a serious issue. Yes there is something wrong with the fact that we live in the most diverse country and most people speak one language when there is NO national language. And we could move our causes as a people if we united. But we can’t unite if we can’t communicate or don’t have a clue about each other’s culture. You don’t have to agree with him but don’t publicly admit that you can’t follow the conversation.
Excuse you. Just because I chose not to comment about the issue doesn’t mean I can’t follow the conversation. I could go back in the archives of you doing the same thing so don’t go pointing fingers. I understand you’re upset about this issue as are everyone else that commented (except that asshole Lagniappe) but don’t come at me like that. My frustration is beyond words which is why I haven’t commented on the trial. I agree with a lot of what has been said today and have left it at that. Now, does that please you Ms. Nani?? And I really don’t know what speaking spanish has to do with this situation. Do you?
I didn’t say that you chose not to discuss the issue. I said that you publicly admitted that you couldn’t follow the different directions of the conversation by saying “I really don’t know what speaking spanish has to do with this situation”. And yes, I was able to follow his point. And just keep this in mind, you write for this blog site and I am a viewer. I don’t write on this site. I will come at you however I feel and to be honest I come at you with some sass but respectfully. I didn’t call you an “asshole” or suggest that you have nothing to add to the conversation as you often do with the viewers of this site. I simply stated my frustration with your constant empty dismissal of viewers. If you disagree with someone then ok, but you simply stated what was the point of his comment. Once again if you don’t know the point, don’t publicly admit that you can’t follow the conversation.
Now simmer down ladies…lol. This isn’t the first time you have been on opposite ends of a discussion. Honestly I think you both have very valid points. In blogging, it is the original posters responsibility to keep the comments “ON TOPIC.” I agree with M. that the comment didn’t DIRECTLY address the his views on the case BUT was most definately relevant. Nubianus (I’m assuming is a male) provided something NO ONE else has to this point in this discussion…SOLUTIONS. Whether they’re very radical or “left field” that’s not for us to decide. As m.impeccable posed below…we need to decide “what’s next.” We can’t continue to acknowledge but not do anything about it.
Nani has taught me a lot. She’s very contentious in her commentary but its by design. In effort to get us all to think…and address the other side of the argument.
Thanks for the your input.
I’ll agree that neither of us should comment when we don’t know what the other has been through. That we should speak spanish comment just struck a nerve with me because of something that I just recently went through. But if you didn’t know that it would look like I was being small minded by that comment. While (again I state) I do agree that we need to come together and come up with some solution to the problems that are plaguing our communities, I just believe it should be Americans learning about Latino cultures AND Latinos learning about American cultures. Not one sided. Once we have come together as one, then we can stand together and fight. We keep getting defeated because we can’t come together as a people. “United we stand, divided we fall.” That’s the words our people should live by. We need to get united and soon!
Well said.
Ok… I didn’t realize that there was some personal back story deeply contributing to my comments or yours. I don’t have a back story. So now that you have stated that, I have a suggestion. When you have some personal experience that is relevant to the discussion and important enough to provoke comments that may be dismissive, its important to explain your perspective. Not because we all need to know your business but because you are already put the comment out there about what is the purpose of learning spanish. If you leave it like that you don’t further the discussion, you just sound dismissive and arrogant. As Juan mentioned when the reader began discussing the importance of learning spanish, he is introducing possible solutions. It was relevant. I am not sure if that is the solution but his point was relevant. And as far as Americans vs. Latinos, Latinos are Americans. American culture is diverse but we have a tendency to only learn white middle class culture and call it American culture. By no means is Black culture considered mainstream American culture but nonetheless everyone in this country needs to learn about that culture, and not by talking to 3 black people. We need to fully embrace another group and meet hundreds of people in order to learn about another group. M. Thomas I want you to know that I think you have something to contribute and when I see you short change yourself or disrespect a viewer I will comment.
Although I agree w/some of your points nubianis. The biggest weapon we could ever a mass as a people is economic power. Let’s face it America is about money and that’s all that is respected. Poor people all over the world are trampled on everyday, it just so happens that the majority of poor people all over the world are of color. Let me pose a question: If NYPD officers shot 3 Orthodox Jews 50 times and killed one what do you think would happen
Answer: They would be spending the rest of their natural lives in jail or even given the death sentence. Why because of their economic power and prowess especially in New York City the Jewish community WOULD SHUT THE CITY DOWN! Thats an undeniable fact. Because we as black and brown people have relatively no economic power besides that of consumers, no one in the government has to pay attention to our needs or even our civil rights. Marches are cool rallies are great but until we get our economic power up we’ll all be expendable.
I personally was involved in a situation similar to that which you discuss 4PL. Do you remember the hectic nature of Crown Heights Riots back in the early 90’s in Brooklyn. It was sparked when a Jewish immigrant killed a young black boy while driving without a license. Because Crown Heights is a 50/50 Black & Jewish community tensions rose and armored police cars, and riot squads stepped in. During one of the contentious demonstrations a Black teenager under the influence stabbed a Jewish man. Best believe he was thrown under the jail and in his recent release some almost 20 years later…There was still outrage. Hate never dies.
Well, considering the fact that two of the three cops were black I think this is less an issue of race and more an issue of social-econonic class.
I AM NOT A HAPPY CAMPER AT ALL!!!!!! I THINK THE DISEASE OF BITCHASSNESS IS BACK!!!!!!!!
50 rounds between 3 firearms means that atleast 1 of the officers had to reload. Thats insane. Im surprised that more people didnt unecessarily get caught in the crossfire.
The outcome of this trial is unfortunate.
Most of us agree that the verdict isnt just, so what do we do about it? Whats the next step?
Talk is cheap. What can we do?
Nubianus>> Why cant we all unite and be AMERICAN?
Black + Brown vs. White? Are you for real? What about the red, yellow and purple people?
Purple people?
of course. What do you think Purple People Eaters eat?
I can’t help but laugh at your rebuttal To Nubianus. Good question. What can we do? For one thing we need to advocate a change in NYPD plain clothes system.
As I stated before, a simple change in the way traffic stops are conducted will decrease accidental shootings. NO UNDERCOVER DETECTIVE MAY CONDUCT A TRAFFIC STOP WITHOUT THE ASSISTANCE of a uniformed officer.
If law abiding citizens are instantly able to identify all officers of the law by UNIFORM there will be less confusion.
Does that bring Sean Bell Back or even prevent future Sean Bell’s from happening…no! I’ve been doing some research on this impeccable since you posted and I’m at a loss right now.
Help Me Out Nation! What can we do as a Highbrid Nation to prevent future Sean Bell’s from happening?
Urban Thought >> im exaggerating on the ridiculousness of skin color segregating people…
after all, arent we all pink on the inside?
I feel you. I meant to put a LOL at the end of that.
Honestly, we are all going to end up mixing into each others race, culture, nationality at some point. You’re going to look at a person and not know exactly what they are.
This is unbelievable!!! 50 shots are no mistake at all! WOW
And that’s some of the most racist crap I’ve read today, thank you very much. When you quit judging everyone by color and hating white people for no reason, then maybe you’ll start making it in this country just like the vast majority of AMERICANS who don’t get so hung up on skin color that they deny themselves the opportunities to thrive and succeed.
Please read Peggy McIntosh, a white author that discusses your desire to ignore race. Hating white people will get you no where but your color-blind theory will get us as a country no where.
wow- kill a dog, 2 years in jail, don’t pay your taxes, 3 years in jail, kill an innocent man, ’sorry.’
Good observation.
I am from Newark NJ and we have kids with stolen cars driving recklessly on the street. There has been many instances where cops shoot and kill these kids when the cars are coming towards the officer. According to reports, one of the officers were struck by his vehicle. In NJ thats an excuse to shoot to kill. I still think 50 shots is excessive. We as a people must do better ad try not to put ourselves in these situations. I like a good strip club like anyone else but there are certain clubs I will not frequent if i dont feel safe. The witnesses did not help is case at all. They sounded very ignorant on the stand and often contradicted themselves. If you were following the case the verdict should not be a surprise.
Accountability is what we need to examine however STAF…no one was held accountable. Why does this happen always to Black people…you mean to tell me there are no questionable strip joints and ignorant witnesses in white neighborhoods? There is a history here.
I disagree with the plain clothes thing that your saying Juan because if NYPD didn’t have that the crime rate wouldn’t be so low and half the so call “undercover aka Deez” police you see are not even detectives they are just regular cops put in that position to address the the high crime areas. Also they address complaints of serious crimes. It would be cool to see what would happen if the police could go on strike to see how many people would get hurt and robbed and killed to see if everyone hateful opinion would be the same. Trust me whether you like police of not (I dont really like them but hey)they are NEEDED!!!! AND SHOULD BE PAID MORE!!!!!!
