Wesley Snipes Gets the Book Thrown At Him: Gets An Unprecedented 3 Year Sentence

Posted by Juan

Damn!

Wesley Snipes

Yo! Did you hear? No…not about the Rice Shortage. Wesley Snipes was sentenced to three years in prison and fined up to $5 million Thursday for failing to file federal tax returns. It was the MAXIMUM sentence allowed under federal guidelines. Snipes’ lawyers submitted over three dozen letters from family members, friends and even fellow actors Woody Harrelson and Denzel Washington attesting to his good character but apparently to absolutely no avail. Sh*t he might as well have represented himself.

The Federal Prosecutors had been asking the judge to sentence Snipes to the maximum to set an example to taxpayers that income taxes evasion carries severe penalties. Clearly this wasn’t about Tax.

You’re probably expecting me to jump to the race card. Clearly its a factor but undoubtably it has to do with his celebrity status as well. Although I’m the most pessimistic person alive I seriously doubt I or any ordinary citizen would have received the same penalty or jail time at all. Tomorrow Highbrid will hold a Day of Silence for Wesley. Not really.

Snipes also had been previously hit with felony conspiracy charges for participating in a scheme that rejects the legal foundation of the tax system. However, a jury accepted his argument that he was innocently duped by errant tax advisers and acquitted him on the most serious charges. So in hindsight it could actually have been worse.

Lesson learned Nation…PAY THOSE TAXES! Uncle Sam ain’t playing.

    Uncle Sam aint no joke!

  2. I’ve talked about it a few times but our society has really changed in how it treats celebrities. There used to be a time where being a celeb got you off for anything but I think the tide turned with O.J. People were disgusted to realize that O.J. used his celeb status to get away with murder. From then on each year celebs having been getting harsher and harsher sentences. Headlines from 2013 are gonna read something like, “BEYONCE GETS DEATH PENALTY FOR JAY WALKING”

  3. this is what happens this is what happens

  4. Don’t know if I would have used Woody Harrelson as a character witness.

Oh, have heard of his name for long. But didn’t know himself. He did a great job in this. I know his affairs are warmly discussed at the dating club blackmatching.com. Many girls love it very much.

this read was better than the daily news article

Have we not learned from history’s biggest mob bosses?! If the government doesn’t get you any other way, tax evasion is the ticket!

    • Exactly. Money is the root to all evil. We all know how evil the government is. Don’t get in the way of their money.

I doubt it is a race issue. Did anyone actually think that Martha Stewart would go to jail? I know it wasn’t tax evasion. But she did tell lies to the governemtn. If Suzy Home maker can got to jail so can Wesley.

Don’t mess with the Tax Man. He is sure to get you every time.
