I donâ€™t have much faith in anything BET does but I kinda like this idea. Black kids have never really known of a black super hero to idolize and since BET plans it as a primetime show Iâ€™m assuming it is something adults will be able to enjoy. Iâ€™m not holding my breath though.

Perhaps the black kids you know, but in my neck of the woods,
brothers have been idolizing the Black Panther, Black Lightning,
Luke Cage, and the Falcon for years.
It’s about time T’Challa got his due, and Reggie got off his @ss and turned
BET around.

Saying Black Kids never really known Black Superheroes is saying
Black Kids don’t read, and do nothing but watch tv all day.
Don’t believe the hype, don’t perp the stereotype.

Maybe now its a lost art, but Black Kids used to read mad books son.

It would be a pleasant surprise if BET can pull this off. I really believe that this is a vanity project for Hudlin. The things he's done as president of Entertainment for BET has been far less than spectacular. I wouldn't be surprised if this is his going away present to the Network. It's good. Hudlin it's involved with both, so it only makes since to mix 'em. And as for movie people in the comic book world, there's a WHOLE LOT now and the numbers keep getting bigger.

Yeh a lot of people in the entertainment industry also work in comics though he may be the only exec I can think of. I know Rosario Dawson has been spending a lot of time writing comics lately.

Funny thing though. When I was reading around to research this post I went to a lot of comic fan blogs and most were saying that though Hudlin has brought a lot of mainstream attention to the series, he sucks as a writer.

Reginald “Harvard Education” Hudlin’s a comic book writer?! Hmmmm. You’re right though Mike I’m a borderline comics guy. Haven’t bought actual copies in years. Never heard of Black Panther. I’m sure BET Will Eff it up just nicely.
