The Fastest Growing Companys in America

Kurt O’Brien and his Simply Self Storage top the HOT 100 List

So you’re probably saying to yourself, “gas prices are high, jobs are being cut and the cost of living is getting higher and higher. How can I get ahead?” The ecconomy sucks right? Well think of where we’d be without small entrepreneurial business which has become the driving force behind the nation’s economy, generating $4.6 billion in 2007 revenue. We’re talking serious bread.
Entrepreneur Magazine pays homage to the fastest-growing of those businesses in their 14th annual Hot 100 list. Of the 100 companies that made the cut for 2008, 75% had earned their first million by just their second year in business and each of them has has added jobs since inception. Criteria for each company included factors such as a minimum level of sales growth, positive job growth from 2003 to 2007, and company sales for 2007 of at least $1 million. Only 0.3% of the 21 million businesses considered made the initial cut. So if you’re an entrepreneur with a budding business here’s the bar to aim for.

Simply Self Storage, a provider of self-storage facilities tops the list. For the full list and more information either pick up May’s copy or visit Entrepreneur.com/hot100 for a more interactive experience.
