T.I. Looses GM Endorsement But Talks About What He’s Gained

Posted by Juan

His first sit-down interview with Atlanta Journal-Constitution

T.I.

Looks like enough was enough, General Motors has cut T.I. loose in the wake of his conviction on federal gun charges. Honestly I’m surprised it took this long… just the mere allegations are enough for an athlete to loose his endorsements.

GM had to back up off of me,” he told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution when asked about the deal. “There are films that I missed out on. Not speaking of, of course, shows. Tours. Tons of business. I’ve probably lost about $10 to $12 million dollars.”

T.I. Weapons

T.I. pleaded guilty to a weapons rap last month in ATL. We all know he was bagged back in October while trying to buy some machine guns and silencers. In his exclusive interview with Atlanta Journal-Constitution he talked about how he’s grown since being on house arrest.

“If I can sit at home all day and wait on people to bring me what I need… wait on getting permission to be able to do this and do that, it’s not as serious as I used to make it sometimes.”

“Sometimes it was like, ‘If I don’t get this right now I’m just going to lose it.’ When you’re going 350 miles per hour, it tends to be that way. But when you are stopped – halted, not slowed down, but halted – you figure, ‘Well I could have just slowed down. I didn’t have to be stopped”

“I thought it was bad just to slow down. Now I see in me being stopped, I could have done this, been this, myself, instead of being forced to do it.”

  1. That is the price you pay for stupidity. Had he slowed down and thought through the gun purchase he wouldn’t be in this mess.

I don’t see this being the end for him though. He will pay his debt to society, grow, move forward and get back on track. Dude is young so he can recover.

Just look at Kobe. He lost his endorsements only to come back and jump over moving cars. Anything is possible.

    • LOL @ Kobe Jumping cars.

Yeah I think T.I. has more of a promising career in film. He’s actually a talented performer so it lends itself well to film. He’ll do well because his time in music is numbered. Fans forget and move on to the next hot thing but movies will always be a source of capitol for him. I like the way he’s treated the situation however.

  2. E. Smith, Palm Springs, CA says:

He “LOOSES” his endorsement, huh? Drop out of school in 1st grade? Lazy @ss illiterate. Get an education.
