Alicia Does Blender: Songstress Shares Conspiracy Theories And Gets Political
interview discusses a more mature and strong minded Alicia Keys
When yall get a chance, check out the recent issue of Blender magazine. According to the Daily News, They’ve dropped a very interesting interview with the gorgeous and very talented Alicia Keys where she makes some very direct accusations. When asked about her thoughts on Hip Hop’s propensity to instigate violence, shorty went in!
“‘Gangsta rap’ was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other. ‘Gangsta rap’ didn’t exist,” said Keys. The singer also says that the bitter rivalry between the late great Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur was fueled “by the government and the media, to stop another great black leader from existing.”
She also went on to explain the significance of the gold AK-47 pendant she wears around her neck. “It’s to symbolize strength, power and killing ‘em dead.” In addition to exploring a more sexual side of her music , Keys says she wants to get more political with her material in future projects saying if black leaders such as Black Panther Huey Newton “had the outlets our musicians have today, it’d be global. I have to figure out a way to do it myself.”
Good luck on that ma. I’m sure your label will have a wee bit to say about that however.

Definitely a salute is warranted.
Some will get on me for saying this but I’ve been getting some serious lesbian vibes from Ms. Keys lately. Everything she says now makes me think, “Yo shes a lesbian”. Anyway, she’s cutting up with the conspiracy theories. Can we stop making rappers (no matter how great they were as emcees) into martyrs and politcal figures.
ease up…enjoy her beauty kid. I know she’s always given of the macho vibe but sometimes I’d rather that then these prissy chick roaming the street these days.
The reason behind her wearing the necklace is troubling to say the least.

Ms. Keys’ comments are typical for mulatto’s. What they lack in black DNA they make up for with anti-white hatred.

Well the reason you sound like my great great grandmother is because you pulled a term straight out the 30′s. Now I’m not the most politically correct person but you seem like a straight up racists at times. I’d like to help you update your vocab though. there are so many more hip words you could have used. For instance “Oreo”. Try it out and get back to me and let me know how it works out for you. If you are gonna be a rasict, I want you to be a hip up to date racist.
After I watch LaChappelle I will consider the word “oreo”. Oreo is more PC than mulatto?

Alicia, I think, has turned her image really mainstream in order to have broader…mainstream…appeal. This is kind of a shame because I really loved how tough and original she was. I mean, she still is, to an extent, but a lot more washed down.
Never really thought of it that way. I mean we so often focus on rappers being categorized as “sellouts.” Do you think we have seen a dip in the quality of her music as a result?
