MARKETING MATTERS: Kobe’s Jumps an Aston Martin to Promote his Nike Signature Hyperdunks
Was it real?
Last night during the TNT telecast of the Lakers at the Clippers, Nike teamed up with Kobe Bryant for a publicity stunt to promote Kobe’s new signature show, The Nike Hyperdunks…stunt being the operative word. As you’ll see below Kobe appears to jump over an Aston Martin coming directly at him at 50 miles per hour!
The video also features Kobe’s Lakers’ teammate Ronny Turiaf who appears to try and talk Kobe out of doing the stunt. “Don’t worry, I got this. Come on, bring it down!” shouted a defiant Bryant.
Was it real? Probably not. After all How could a world class athlete of Kobe’s caliber be so reckless as to jeopardize his career to jump over a car. Honestly I don’t get the point behind it but then again it must have worked because I’m talking about it with my Nation here now. Now the kicks are obviously biscuits but what do you think of the stunt?

hell nah it ain’t real
He did NOT jump that car! Look at the shadow and where he and where the car is when he jumps
not sure I see your shadow argument. I agree he didn’t jump the car however.
looks real to me =) but imma kobe fanboy.
Indeed, Shabooty even has a post on his site talking about buying the new Hyperdunks

Take a slow look – the car is in a turning pattern and eventually Kobe does get directly over it (if not completely), then it looks like the car is rolling back out. Clever.
explain (for the videographically challenged)
I was looking on the shadows but it seems he may not have actually jump directly over the car but actually BESIDES the car, jumping over it may seem tooo risky, thats why the shadows can still be seen somewhat… if u take a slow look at the beginning u can see his shadows on the front chassis of the Aston……. but still the kicks are off the HOOK
