BUSINESS MATTERS: Jay-Z & Beyonce #1 Power Couple? How much are they worth TOGETHER?!

Posted by Juan

Could the Jay/Beyonce marriage have been held up because it took 6 years to write a prenup?

Jay-Z and Beyonce

Although no official word has yet to be released enough media camps are reporting it for us to take it out of the “rumors” category, Beyoncé has finally put the cuffs on Jigga.

Of course the ceremony was held at the Jay’s Marcy Project’s Apartment ritzy Manhattan loft and of course the guest included former Memphis Bleak, Jaz-O, Destiny’s Child band-mates LeToya Luckett, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams and A-lister Gwyneth Paltrow.

But what does this mean in terms of the couples power? Could they now top the charts as the number one Power Couple? According to Forbes.com, Jay-Z banked an estimated $83 million between June 2006 and June 2007. Oh yall aint hearing me now!

At just 38 years old (debatable), he’s already put out 10 Billboard-topping albums, he’s spearheaded a record label, launched arguably the most successful urban apparel line and owns the 40/40 nightclub franchise. On top of it he also is part owner of the New Jersey Nets and gets endorsement checks from Hewlett Packard, General Motors and Budweiser. A far cry from his humble upbringings on Nostrand Avenue in Brooklyn, Jay only improved his worth with his announcement last week that he signed a 10-year, $150 million deal with Live Nation. Oh and lets not forget the bread I broke down with his current “Heart of the City Tour

Beyoncé on the other hand is no financial slouch either. During the same period, Forbes estimates she’s earned $27 million, (that’s $110 Million Collective yearly income…wow) In addition her music accolades, Bey is THE most sought after black female celebrity by corporate America landing endorsements with Samsung to L’Oréal to American Express, among others.

So, with all that bread between them maybe it wasn’t them fronting on the alter but perhaps it just took their lawyer 6 years to write up that prenup. Congrats!

with out a doubt they are a power couple. I’d also say that for both of them their best earning days may be behind them. Bey really isn’t the “it” girl anymore and Jay certainly isn’t getting any younger. I’m not saying that they wont continue to rake in millions and millions of dollars but I think it’s downhill from here.

Downhill for them…no. Clearly uphill. They’ve plateaued in terms of their popularity stock but all that means is they’ve established themselves. The deal that Jay signed with Live Nation is clear indication of that. Beyonce still has plenty of business in her plus the Nets move to Brooklyn will bring more and more endorsements. I’m buying their stock. Feel free to sell.
