Just days after I seen the list that site Highbrid Nation was the number #36 urban blog on the internet, another list has been brought to my attention and this time we are listed at #26. Needless to say I’m a bit more fond of this list. One of the more unique aspects of this list is it tries to gauge how much each site is worth. They saywe are worth about $16,000. I’d have to disagree with that one. Highbrid Nation is truly priceless in my eyes. Anyway here’s the list. Some great sites on there…and some not so great ones.

Top Urban Blogs - April 2008

1. HipHop Music - Est. Worth $3,015,710.00 (site has been around for like 10 years but they don’t seem to be doing much. Doesn’t seem to have many readers and new posts are rare)
2. Concreteloop - Est. Worth $1,467,140.00 (Not really that much of a fan. They recently fired a blogger just for being gay)
3. Bossip - Est. Worth $1,404,500.00 (another one that is popular amongst women. A bit too gossipy for my taste)
4. Hypebeast Est. Worth $834,400.00 (seems like a pretty decent fashion blog if you like that sort of thing)
5. NahRight - Est. Worth $502,880.00 (Run by Eskay who now also runs XXL mag. Great place for new music and videos)
6. Lossip - Est. Worth $469,886.00 (another popular gossip site. Not sure this site can be considered “urban” though)
7. Greasy Guide - Est. Worth $464,122.00 (also happens to be the site that published this list. Very solid blog though)
8. Soul Sides - Est. worth $236,096.00 (site which focusing on soul and jazz music)
9. Cocaine Blunts - Est. Worth $134,068.00 (another good site that’s making moves)
10. Stereohyped - Est. Worth $120,772.00 (good site for fans of HN)
11. Sandrarose - Est. Worth $87,048.00 (mega-hater of Ciara and Beyonce. Loves to talk about Monica and doesn’t think Barack is black)
12. Bryon Crawford - Est. Worth $84,458.00 (maybe the most popular urban blogger on the net. Gets a kick out of pushing the public’s buttons. Possibly never leaves from in front of his computer)
13. That Grape Juice - Est. Worth $73,336.00 (another solid blog)
14. Love B. Scott - Est. Worth $70,040.00 (site of the gay blogger that was fired by Concrete Loop)
15. Think2wice - Est. Worth $69,112.00 (another good site. Content often ventures outside of what would be considered urban)
16. Str8NYC - Est. Worth $67,774.00 (great site with a great sense of humor)
17. Oh Word - Est. Worth $61,752.00 (that real real hip hop)

30. Blogs is Watching - Est. Worth $1,030.00 (this one is new to me. I’m gonna have to spend some time on this site before I give it my seal of approval)

It’s always interesting to see how HN stacks up against others. The other list had us at #36. This one has us at #26. At the same time there are really good blogs that I visit that made neither list. So you can only take these with a grain of salt but it’s always nice to have the old ego stroked. And thanks again to the readers. Keep spreading the word.
