Is FOX News Guilty of Fabricating Rev. Wright Story and Others?
It’s a rhetorical question
What up Nation. Over the past week I’ve learned far too much about FOX News than I ever wanted to or cared to know. Well its time to officially take them to task. Last week I was mildly agitated about what I believed to be “irresponsible journalism” on the part of FOX News in its reporting of the New Black Panther Parties endorsement of Sen. Barack Obama. Please allow me to appologize, although it still remains irresponsible, the fact is FOX News, unbeknownced to me doesn’t subscribe to journalism at all! The TRUTH is they invent the coverage that they depict across the air and the net and sell it to us sheep as FACT…news.
Cass, (loyal citizen of the Highbrid Nation since 2008,) put me on a little something shortly after I wrote the post and responded to many of your comments. (Great discussion by the way.) What Cass pointed out was that FOX News is notoriously conservative which peaked my investigative curiosity and the filth that I found…oh boy!
EXHIBIT A: Last Friday Chris Wallace, host of “Fox News Sunday,” had to “go in” on the hosts and fellow co-workers of the seemingly lighthearted morning show “Fox & Friends.” On Friday, the show had been discussing Senator Barack Obama’s comments about his “white grandmother” and his subsequent justification of his remarks in which he allegedly called her a “typical white person.”
The morning show hosts posed the question whether Obama’s remarks were offensive and supplemented the segment with the regular playing of the “typical white person” quote over and over again. Many of the FOX News cronies agreed with the groupspeak assessment however Mr. Wallace came on to address an issue that I had already discovered. FOX NEWS IS GUILTY OF OFTEN TAKING QUOTES, AND CLIPS OUT OF CONTEXT AND PLAYING THEM IN ISOLATION.
“It seems to me that two hours of Obama-bashing on this ‘typical white person’ remark is somewhat excessive, and frankly I think you’re somewhat distorting what Obama had to say,” Mr. Wallace said. So you say you want more evidence?
EXHIBIT B: Allow me to take you back to the Reverend Wright controversy. Shout to Malcolm (loyal citizen of the Highbrid Nation since 2008) for hitting me with the FULL CONTEXTUAL INFORMATION. The truth is the entire frenzy was fabricated by the media with the foremost culprit being…FOX NEWS!
By now we’re all familiar with the video of Reverend Wright’s comments blaming America for 9/11. However if you actually watch the entire sermon from which the FOX News clips were derived, you find that Wright was quoting Ambassador Edward Peck, who made those comments on FOX NEWS hours after the 9/11 attacks. As you’ll see Rev. Wright address the congregation then read the direct quote of ambassador Peck from his piece of paper.
FOX News is not to be trusted. Honestly we’d all be fools to take EVERYTHING any man tells us as gospel. In an election of this magnitude, accurate and COMPLETE information is what the American public will rely upon when ultimately placing their confidence behind a particular candidate. FOX, FOX News and Rupert Murdoch, you all should be ashamed of yourselves. Keep that third eye open and remember Knowledge is Power!

Fox News are gamblers I never watch them regarding news for this exact reason. Also, NFL season is out so I have no reason to watch Fox.
I only watch to keep an eye on what they other side is thinking.
You all will have to forgive me. Although I may seem to be politically conscious, with regard to the television networks I’m oblivious to exactly what skew they tilt from. I generally watch CNN and have never really noticed too much bias but I also don’t really pay attention to a lot of the political analysis only the news. I never watched FOX News so I never really noticed this trend.
It’s important to do that Urban Thought. A lot of people won’t watch and say they are bias, but the best way to fight something is to know how it works or what it thinks. Good point UT! Remember the old cliche’ Knowledge is Power… that’s all knowledge not just selective knowledge.
Later
Its become common knowledge that Fox News is super conservative. They seem almost proud of it even as they refer to their network as “fair and balanced”. The two biggest shows on the netowrk are O’Reily Factor (and we know all about him) and Hannity and Colmes. Hannity and Colmes is the one that really messes with me because it is supposed to be a show hosted by a Republican and a Democrate with each reacting to issues from their perspective but if you watch the show Sean Hannity (the Republican) heavily overshadows and intimidates the meek Colmes (the Democrate. It really is a joke. Not exctly fair and balanced.
The key here is to understand that they want Hillary elected President.
Why would a far-right “news” station want Hillary? — Because it would give them four years worth of material for their network.
They have piles of info they can run on Hillary. Tons of stories, enough to keep them busy for years.
Obama screws up that plan. That’s why they want him out.
So McCain is too boring?
as they have learned comparing their coverage of Clinton 1 and Bush 2, it’s much easier to attack the administration than it is to defend some of the crazy decision.
If McCain gets in, they’ll have to defend him since he’s a republican.
If Hillary gets in, it will be like the Monica coverage, except from day 1.
Malcolm I agree, all news is like that though. You ever wonder why it’s important to report that a guy in a neighboring city was shot today versus a group of teens in my city were going around helping the elderly but handing out cash and food, because the shooting brings ratings. For some reason negative wins over positive. To ridicule a president (a female president)is more interesting than defending a president. Human psyche…go figure.
Out
Very interesting philosophy. I guess you’re right. However Hillary has the longest odds to the White House at this point.
REAL TALK HN!!
Thanks Ron.
News stations in general are not reliable sources of information. I am not sure of the reasons but the news does a poor job reporting on a daily basis across topics. Its not good reporting to say a man was shot in north philly on Broad Street. A good report would follow up with some statistics on homicides and gun related violence. Then bring in experts from opposing perspectives discussing possible reasons and solutions. News that informs rarely happens but news that scares, angers, and entices happens everyday, from local to national. I give my students a quiz in my class on race and SES in the US. They always fail and we discuss why. The reason is because they get their information from the news. I hate watching the news personally. And FOX is the only station that called Florida for Bush in the first election.
I am going to assume that since Barry Obama has thrown Wright under the bus, as well as his own grandmother, y’all won’t be taking Obama himself too much at this word now?
I’m still yet to understand how he through his grandmother under the bus. He just used her to say that everyone, not just her, have stereotypes about others embeded in them
Barack said that his grandmother’s comments made him cringe. That means she said something off the chain. I think he was trying to stress the point that we have good people that have what appear to be racist thoughts both black and white. I felt like he put his grandmother out there a bit.
Saying he threw her under the bus is a comment that is obviously ill-fated. If you don’t want to root or vote for the guy don’t. He didn’t attack or belittle his grandmother in any way with his statements AND YOU KNOW IT TWO DOGS. You’re harping on crumbs at this point.
