New York City Health Department in bed with MTA and a Year Later still won’t Fu*k with Highbrid…even with a Condom
why not flood NYC areas with the highest HIV & AIDS #’s???
Ahhh what a smith world we live in. S Dot told you about this years new waist of tax dollars w/ respect to NYC condoms. So your boy decided to try his luck again. Cool you turned us down last year…..a pro bono campaign… and they have decided to say no again. Now I believe my man Jeffrey Esscoffier is trying to push it through for us but in some kind of weird dimension, the MTA actually has the final call on situations like these. I thought the NYCDOH was just that not the MTANYCDOH. Monopolistic I tell you. So yet another attempt to have dynamic fully wrapped vehicles distributing free condoms to citizens in Flatbush BK, Far Rockaway Queens, & the North Central Bronx has been declined, and yes it was still pro bono on our behalf.
Of course it sucks not to be a part of this and form a working relationship with the city as a Minority owned and certified business, but primarily something is really wrong here with our local (and federal for that much) govts. People are being neglected and overlooked. They create something that sounds good but they end up not doing it right at all. So in essence what was the attempt for?, why even bother? I urge the residents in these areas, NYC & the globe as a whole reach out to the proper channels and insist a change. New York City Dept. of Health-212 788 4975
For all of you who missed initial story, please read on….

They say they do not have the budget for a pro bono campaign-translation-they say they do not have money for a free campaign. What and the hell sense does that make? All of you readers should know about Highbrid Outdoor by now. Highbrid Outdoor is the minority owned out-of home integrated marketing communications firm that brought you campaigns by Air Jamaica, the Universoul Circus, the Ad Council, Highbrid Nation, & Hot Cahmodity. Marcus Holmes, Highbrid Outdoor CFO says “The MTA obviously has a legalized monopoly w/ respect to advertising related to transportation. Things have changed, but have they?” The NYC Dept. of Health plans on distributing 26 million NYC condoms this year and it’s simple, Highbrid outdoor wants to be a part of this and assist in the war against HIV and AIDS.
Mr. Holmes explained that the firm had been reaching out to the NYCDOH for over a year (quit smoking & cancer-related campaigns) with no success. Once attention was turned to assisiting with the NYC Condom campaign, a pro bono proposal was submitted. The NYCDOH contact told Highbrid Outdoor that he and his superior loved the proposal and all would proceed after approval from the MTA (Why the hell should they approve, I don’t know). Two weeks later, a 1&1/2 lined -email was sent back stating “I’m afraid we’re not going to be able to do the vans. It’s a great idea. Thanks for the offer. Upon rebuttal by Mr. Holmes, the excuse given was we don’t have the budget. That’s BS. Why wouldn’t the City of New York accept a free campaign that would assist (and likely increase) in the distribution of condoms in areas such as the Flatbush & East Flatbush sections of Brooklyn, North Central Bronx, and the Far Rockaway section of Queens all of which contain shockingly high HIV & AIDS statistics? I have no clue but I can take a few guesses. Earlier this year 50 cent visited the Hot 97 radio station. One important comment he made was that he personally reached out to Mayor Bloomberg and his staff to be involved with the same campaign, however, after telling him that it was a perfect idea….they said it would not work cause he’s a criminal. That’s BS too. Now I wanna tie this to another point. I hate to use the race card but I’m pullin’ it. Our vehicles serve all of New York City but are concentrated in high minority populated areas of the 5 boros. These are the communities that need the outreach & awareness. The commuter van industry itself is comprised mainly of people of West Indian and Hispanic descent and has been shown little to no love and/or respect by New York City’s govt. since its inception in 1980. Something is wrong here, but if there is a transit strike, this same industry is the one that is called on. I challenge any of you that can do something about this to do it. It’s doesn’t make any sense and it’s just not right.

- Highbrid Nation » Blog Archive » Website Gives Dogs One Last Chance Before Death
[…] Check this story out. Dogsindanger.com is a site that definitely needed to be created. The site shows dogs around the country that will be put to death by a certain date and time. There are even countdown timers next to each pooch detailing the days, minutes and seconds until All dogs go to heaven. This type of setup is greatly needed as thousands and thousands of dogs die each year. With this, it puts the pressure on the public to adopt these dogs or you know what happens next. I’m sure all won’t be adopted but any help is positive. I’m glad to see someone do something about something, once again I tried to help this country with an issue but the NYC Animal Care & Control didn’t want any pro bono help. Go figure. Unit 7 is a smith too. no budget for the pro bono? if its not race related its probably some other form of discrininstion. they just might not want to see the small biz guys get any burn.
People please don’t forget that AIDS has been “rumored” although I believe it to be fact to be MAN MADE…created in a labratory as a biological weapon. No coincidence that it started in a monkey. How many monkies you see running around now adays with AIDS wearing red ribbons. Another form of oppression, conscious or not. Great story please share.
