This Fall VH1 To Air First Ever Interracial Dating Reality Show
Series will feature a white father looking to get down with the Brown
Are you tired of all the wacked out reality shows that seem to spring up all over television? Well VH1 has one more for you an its actually got an interesting topic. All day The Nation has been buzzing about the topic of race and how relevant it is in politics. VH1 is asking the same question with its new show “Interracial Love.” The reality show about a white male looking to find an African American girlfriend is sure to address the importance of race in relationships.
According to VH1realityworld.com, the show will begin production in June for a fall sweeps. The series will follow Tobias White, father of two bi-racial sons Marcus and Zachary, as he attempts to find a sista to make his wife.
“I’m a white male and I’ve always dated only black women. I just always have,” White told the website. “It’s not that I’m prejudiced against my own race, but it just seemed a better fit for me. And now I have two children that are bi-racial.
“I’ve seen so many shows like the Bachelor and now Age of Love, The Rock of Love and Joe Millionaire. They always have 19 or 20 white women on the show and they’ll have one black woman. It’s almost like it was set up for the black woman to get voted off.”
“To me, with the mother of my kids being black, I think it’s a disrespectful thing. And I was just thinking one day about a year ago that this would be a good reality show. Me and my sons want a good woman in our lives, and who better to help me find my Queen, than my sons? Who knows me better than my sons?”
If race shouldn’t play a roll in politics, should it play a roll in love? I welcome your opinions.

Though I did beleive that love is color blind I also think that if you go into the world looking for a mate that it the total opposite than you are than you may not actually like you are. That’s just my opinion though.
Well, I can understand why he would want a black woman. I love black woman. But the thought of it being a reality show… come on? How many people have actually found love on these reality shows? It’s a novelty.
He’ll be lucky to walk away with someone who will stick around long term. It’s about money as far as I can see, for both him and VH1.
I’m surprised at the response. I thought it would be a little more supportive. I like the idea. Thought, its a reality show in the sense that they’re just chronicling his dates/life. Its not like Flavor of Love where they’re lining up 25 hoochies.
I’m so jaded by reality TV. You tell me VH1 and all I can see is a line of hoochies just waiting to be on TV.
I’m going to watch and see how it unfolds. I’m such a private person when it comes down to relationships and dating. I cannot see anyone getting on TV trying to find love. You leave yourself open to so many pressures.
Hi, I work in VH1′s communications department and this simply is not true. We have not picked up a series on interracial love.
