New Alien Vs. Predator Film Already In The Works?

Posted by Mike "Evorgleb" Belgrove

Love it or hate, it looks like we are getting another film.

When the first Alien vs. Predator came out it was slammed by critics but I liked it. When the second Alien vs Predator [:Requiem] came out it too was slammed by critics and yet again I enjoyed it. Seems like I’m in the minority here but apparently enough people are enjoying the AVP series for Fox to discuss making a third when the most recent film was only released this past December.

According to the site Shocktillyoudrop.com inside sources are saying that another film is a certainty and is not a matter of “if” but just a matter of “when”.

Personally I’d like to see another movie. Though I think there is much room for improvement, I sill believe the Alien and Predator franchises are some of the best sci-fi thrillers ever made. If you saw the first two, you know that they each had a very different style than the other. I’d love to see a third movie maker come in and give yet another spin on the mythology of the films. That’s me dreaming though. In reality they will get some no name director to come in a and much it up.

  1. thas wzup, still gotta see 2nd joint, I’m feelin’ them joint

  2. I’m all for the franchise moving forward. Who needs critics telling them what’s good and what isn’t? They are paid to be opinionated. The top two movies of the past weekend were both panned by critics and have been a great success.

AVP: 3… I’m all for it.

I was very disappointed with Alien vs. Predator. It certainly wasn’t the worst thing that I’d seen, but it did not live up to the hype.

However, I’m all for them getting it right. You’ve got the two best badass monsters in cinema in the same movie. I’d love to see a movie with these two done right.

Where is Ridley Scott? Somebody needs to ask him for help.

look, those movies were tight,i dont care what nobody says. These movies finally allowed what everybody had been waiting for. The aliens to finally reach earth. If every body recalls, the first aliens to reach earth died in a ship crash. That was in alien ressurection. If the movie makers want this to work, they will go back to the first avp and find a way to get that queen up from the ocean. It cant be dead if it survived being frozen for who knows how many years in that pyramid. They could discover it with weyland yutani’s satellites wich were probably watching the whole ordeal anyway. Think of the possibilities!!!!

I’ve been following all the Alien & Predator movies since their beginings. I must say I was dissapointed at how dimly lit Requiem was filmed. I struggled to follow the movie as it seemed to be shot in the dark. I very much look forward to another battle betweeen these great beasts.
