MARKETING MATTERS: KB24.com Previews Ads for Zoom Kobe III by Nike
Eventhough I can’t stand dukes the commercials are alright.
Zambezi Ink has been working in conjunction with Nike to develop and direct five-spot “Genius” campaign to promote the launch of Bryant’s new signature Nike shoe, the Zoom Kobe III. One spot per week is premiering exclusively at Bryant’s official site, Kb24.com but naturally YouTube is on the case. (Only go to the site once…I would hate for Kobe to actually receive a ton of hits from a link on Highbrid Nation. Yuck!)
Zambezi Ink (the same team that developed KB24.com) implored its creative directors, Brian Ford and Ian Noe to develop the “Genius concept.” In the spots you’ll see the Kobster dressed as DaVinci, Mozart, George Washington Carver (a good look) and Einstein in effort to present the kicks as pure genius (1 black dude to 3 white cats aint bad.) The kid featured is pretty dope too.
