WaterStudio:Float On, Float On!
Row,Row, Row your…..home?
Home building company, Waterstudio, looks at the glass half empty. With housing developments going up across the nation constantly where is the next place to build. We as a nation are definitely running out of real estate. Earth is made up of roughly 70 percent water so…… These houses are eco friendly and of course water-disaster proof. Electricity and Water cables are built into the airtight foundation. These are only concept images but I could see this being the next move in real estate. The houses even come with a bob upwards hovering floor in case of floods or rising water levels. Bad Part, Holland would be the first experimental location if any. Best part, this is the elimination of the lawn mower, so you could be a kid again on Saturday mornings. I know if this ever became a reality I would buy lots of stock in Dish Network and DirecTV. Thanks Broc

They should go for solar paneling to power the home and the boat.
i agree thought, this is bananas
this is another example of people having too much time and money on their hands. man has already trashed land, so now he wants to keep trashing the water with even more pollution. this is just sad!!!!
well he did say they were eco friendly
excuse me Mr. Belgrove, but boats run off of gas, which will be needed to get to the eco-friendly house. where does that oil and exhaust go? into the water. so, where does the eco-friendly part come in?
First let me say Deanna that I love what you bring to our site. You have an unique perspective that brings a different angle to some of our stories. Hope you stick around HN for a long time.
With that said, I’m gonna have to argue that point of yours. Yes, boats run on gas just as cars do. But as we advance and as energy needs change, cars will no longer be fueled by gas. They will be run through Hydrogen cells, electricity and ethanol (actually they many already are). So I think its safe to assume that by the time man lives in the floating houses such as the one above, they’d be able to get there with their eco friendly boat..
thank you for the nice sentiments, Mr Belgrove. point well taken. but, if you wish to look at things in a futuristic perspective, when this does happen, there may not “be any oceans left” thanks to man, global warming, and desalination.
