Web Highlight: Google the Wal-Mart of the Net

Posted by E. A. Smith

Google is quickly becoming the one stop web shop for all.

If you surf the net, even if you do not surf the net you have heard of Google and probaly used Google.  Google is best known as a search engine and to web designers a great way to advertise and make money.  Google has so much more to offer, and is quickly offering more.  Yahoo is large and has alot of followers, but it is Rhode Island while Google is New York. Now I know it may sound as if I am advertising for Google, but when I get excited about something I promote it.  Google allows you to get your email, search the web, get images, organize and read all your blogs, chat with others using gmail and AOL (that’s just for now they are rumored to add more) shop, get news watch video pretty much search the whole entire net from simply going to iGoogle.  With iGoogle (which is set as my homepage) I open the internet (not log in because I have highspeed, better catch up) and have everything I use at my fingertips (Facebook, email, chat, Highbridnation as well as other blogs, weather, a translator and a couple of games) and I never have to leave that page.  I know that other sites have the same thing, but Google makes it super easy.

Lastly Google allows you to use programs similar to MS Word, Excel, Calendar and Photo online so that: one you do not have to use your hard drive space to store documents or photos and two they are easily accessible to share with a url they give you.  This makes business a lot easier, and calendars alot more usable.  Google has so much more to offer than what I listed here.  If you are not a member yet I highly suggest you sign up for Google and check it out.

Later

I know I mentioned Google alot in this post, but each google link takes you to a different part of Google.

I was wondering why Google was linked so much. You’re right, Google is a useful tool. Some services that iGoogle offers are done better elsewhere but no one brings it together like Google does.

I was wondering why E. A. linked to Google so much myself. Let me find out he’s working one of those SEO scams.

Naw naw no scam, just using the story to showcase how much it had to offer. As I was doing that I found out about google scholar a usseful tool on finding research publishings on subjects you need (would of been great for school). Google is my new god….naw never that….forgive me Geebus (Simpson refrence, Homer is an idiot)
