L.A. TIMES: Painful Past Leads To Obama’s Heightened Security But Is It Enough?
Why some won’t vote out of fear for his life.
During a recent conversation with the mother of close friend I learned that she didn’t vote for the candidate she wished to support OUT OF FEAR?!. After more follow up I learned it wasn’t that she, herself had been threatened but rather that she feared the candidate she supported, Barack Obama would be assasinated if elected or better yet nominated.
I’m sure most of the citizens of Highbrid Nation are two young to have lived during the assasination riddled times of the ’60’s. However for this worried voter it was a harsh reality. Her support for JFK, Robert Kennedy and Dr. Martin Luther King indirectly contributed to their demise in her eyes. As a more mature voter in the twilight of her life she no longer wishes to be an accomplice to murder and instead chose to “vote for the other gal.”
Representative Bennie Thompson, a Mississippi Democrat and chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee has been dealing with these concerns very directly. This morning, The Los Angeles Times discussed a letter he wrote to the Secret Service as well as the interesting parallels to the security concerns of the 1960’s.
“The national and international profile of Senator Barack Obama gives rise to unique challenges that merit special concern,” Mr. Thompson wrote. “As an African-American who was witness to some of this nation’s most shameful days during the civil rights movement, I know personally that the hatred of some of our fellow citizens can lead to heinous acts of violence.”
Although the details are sketchy and no immediate threats have been announced publicly we can only imagine the nonesence that must be brewing behind the scenes from those ignorant few who still have yet to accept a person of color as equal let alone in authority.
“His candidacy is so unique to this country and so important that the last thing you would want is for him not to have the opportunity to fulfill the role of a potential presidential nominee,” Mr. Thompson said. “It’s out of an abundance of caution that I wrote the letter, rather than keep our fingers crossed and pray.”
Shout to Cass (loyal citizen of the Highbrid Nation since 2008 for the heads up)

That is a serious situation not to be taken lightly. Thoughts of 50 cent and the comments he made weeks ago about something happening to Obama come to mind.
Nah…definately not a joke. Imagine how loose this country would get…the riots if Obama didn’t make it.
