Recently we’ve been discussing the tight race for the Democratic nomination. As the primaries pass and neither candidate is able to create separation, the educated Democrat has realized that its all but certain that the inevitable Clinton-Obama deadlock will be broken though superdelegatory intervention. What we don’t know is what really is a “superdelegate” and who are they.

Over the weekend we learned of a would-be scandal in which Hillary’s home state of New York severely miscounted during their primary last month.  In the 94th district in Harlem, for example, Obama showed ZERO votes, virtually impossible giving the nature of this election.  Is it a coincidence that this is the very same district that Bill Clinton houses his offices?  It all speaks to the importance of these Superdelegates in determining the next US president.

According to Wired magazine, the blog DemConWatch have formed a coalition with blogs DemConWatch, OpenLeft, LiteraryOutpost, and Sourcewatch’s Congresspedia community, established the Superdelegate Transparency Project.

The Superdelegate Transparency Project is a comprehensive wiki-based resource that not only details the full list of Superdelgates but gives visitors option to view delegation maps and links to pages with all known information pertaining to their superdelegates.

This is really dope and very necessary. (It almost sounds like the “Human Project” from the Movie Children of Men.) With all the excitement and attention paid to the this very historic Democratic Nomination race, the reality is that the nominee will likely not be representative at all of the “popular” vote or the wishes of the registered democratic population at large. Instead it will be be decided by these almost mystical figures behind closed doors. The negotiations for perhaps your next president are going on right now…don’t you want to know whose behind them?
