MARKETING MATTERS: Timbaland and Verizon To Offer Mobile Album via V Cast

Posted by Juan

Will Produce Album on Touring Recording Studio Bus and Deliver Exclusive Music and Video to V CAST

Timberland

Verizon Wireless is teaming up with super producer and 5x Grammy nominee Timbaland to launch their Mobile Producer in Residence Program. (Full Press Release)

Using Verizon Wireless’ V CAST technology Timbo has accepted the challenge of attempting to launch an entire mobile album during the course of 2008. The not yet titled mobile album will be sent directly and exclusively offered to Verizon Wireless customers through V CAST Music.

Timbaland will start production on the project in March. Naturally there will be loads of colabos. Timbo will actually be producing all his blazing tracks from the fully-equipped Verizon Mobile Recording Studio Bus. The bus will make stops in various cities allowing fans access to recording sessions and get a glimpse into Timbaland’s creative process either in person or through video available through V Cast.

To launch the project Verizon will honor Timbaland at its Mobile Producer in Residence program launch in LA today (Feb. 8) at a private pre-GRAMMY event co-hosted by PEOPLE. Tonight, Timbaland will take to the Verizon’s Mobile Recording Studio Bus to debut the first track of this project.

“I am honored to be named Verizon’s first Mobile Producer in Residence and have the opportunity to create music from so many places in the country, and deliver it directly to my fans wherever they are through their mobile phones,” said Timbaland. “I am looking forward to the opportunity to collaborate with many different artists aboard the studio on wheels and taking fans into our recording sessions to see how we do it.”
