BUSINESS MATTERS: No Way G-Unit Clothing Shutting Down. We go inside the $tats
Plus other 50 News

Marc Ecko, The Billionaire Behind Ecko and G-Unit
The internet has been buzzing with rumors that 50’s G-Unit Clothing line, a joint venture with Marc Ecko will be shutting down shop. However the fine folks over at Allhiphop.com are saying not so fast. They will be staying open but with some restructuring. A source close to the situation indicates there will be some high-ranking corporate layoffs next week.
Believe it or not the G-Unit brand rakes in $75 million dollars annually and accounts for 15% of Marc Ecko Enterprises annual revenue. Last year alone the brand grew just under 30 %. With Marc Ecko appearing on the cover of February’s Entrepreneur Magazine as the latest fashion industry billionaire and poised to open up a new Flaghship Cut & Sew store in Times Square, we are starting to see why. Even 50 got a pimp!
In other 50 news, it looks like 50 is using new tactics to stick it Ja Rule and Irv Gotti. New York Daily News’ scum reporters, Rush & Malloy, announced Wednesday that 50 Cent is trying to lure Ashanti away from the The Inc. to become G-Unit’s new first lady. The report indicates Ashanti is fed up with Gotti publically speaking about a sexual encounter with her.
According to the paper, the R&B songstress has been upset with Gotti for saying in various interviews that they had a sexual encounter.

this story gets more and more confusing. one minute im hearing one thing the next im hearing the total opposite. last i heard 50 had parted ways with Ecko and had retained full rights to the brand and was gonna set up shop with a different manufactuer. Sean John? Now that would be interesting.
I think the Entrepreneur Magazine article would have made him change his mind. Ecko rakes in $1.5 Bil Gross/ Year the same amount that Ecko is worth.
First, you have to believe that Ecko is a billion dollar company…and Marc has a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn.
Secondly, you have to believe that there is any “partnership” between Ecko and 50. And they can’t stand each other!
Sorry Candor…can’t side with you there. Standing or not standing…they making bread and in business I’ll take someone who fills my pockets over someone I can play Parcheesi with ANYDAY!
