Highbrid Nation Editorial Board Endorses Senator Barack Obama

Posted by Juan

Vote Tuesday Feb 5th!

Barack

Well politically it all comes down to one day (for the most part.) From very early in the primary process it was quite evident the race for the Democratic nomination was a two game. Hillary Clinton, the intelligent, emotionally driven fiery senator from New York; and Barack Obama, the charismatic and incandescent political rockstar senator from Illinois. Although long shot, John Edwards, brought a lot to the table he was a welterweight in a heavyweight fight.

As Democrats take to the polls tomorrow (Feb. 5) in the most important primaries in 30 years, The Highbrid Nation editorial board strongly recommends that they select Barack Obama as their nominee for the 2008 presidential election.

Although we’ve been inspired by Senator Clinton and her visions for the presidency, her policies, her knowledge and her intellect we feel that on the major issues, the two major candidate’s platforms are virtually identical. They both promise to end the war in Iraq, claim more equitable taxation, insure more effective government spending, display an honest concern for social issues, and have a burning desire to put an end to the politics of party division instituted under the Bush administration.

However, in examining the intangibles, we believe more strongly in Senator Obama’s leadership gifts. He is a tremendously gifted speaker and commands confidence through his speech. In this time of uncertainty that quality can not be underestimated. Yes the concept of the first African-American democratic nominee is enticing but we believe ultimately it is Mr. Obama’s vision of change based on bipartisan politics and inclusion is the elixir that will heal this country. Our country doesn’t need another politician mired in the decade old system of favors and special interests. Sen. Obama’s plans to restore America’s global image, to which President Bush has done tremendous harm are genuine and we hope that you will join us in standing behind our 2008 endorsement for the Democratic Nomination, Senator Barack Obama.

Since I’m speaking in someone else’s room, I will be far more polite than I was on my own blog when Obama beat Hillary in South Carolina:

Instead, I’ll just take the high road and say: I really hope Obama scores a resounding victory over Hillary.
