Obama (FORCED TO) Condemn Farrakhan as Biggot. Could it cost him votes in his own state?

Posted by Juan

Forced to choose Obama seperates himself from his church’s decision.

Farrakhan

Don’t expect to see an endorsement of Barack Obama from Minister Louis Farrakhan anytime soon. Yesterday, Senator Barack Obama released a statement strongly condemning the anti-Semitism of Nation of Islam leader Minister Louis Farrakhan. The statement doesn’t stem from any recent statements but rather the fact that the Presidential candidate’s pastor, Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, had honored Farrakhan as one who “truly epitomized greatness.”

Until now, Obama hadn’t publicly made any statement regarding the honorarium. I decry racism and anti-Semitism in every form and strongly condemn the anti-Semitic statements made by Minister Farrakhan,” He said. “I assume that [Wright] made [his] own decision to honor Farrakhan based on his efforts to rehabilitate ex-offenders, but it is not a decision with which I agree.”

This is a rather sharp statement for a Presidential Candidate trying to appeal to all of the people. Farrakhan, a former constituent of Obama’s in Chicago has a HUGE Muslim following and could cost the Senator votes in his own state and around the country.

The Anti Defamation League (ADL) saluted the Presidential candidates saying “We welcome Barack Obama’s condemnation of the anti-Semitic rhetoric of Minister Louis Farrakhan, and his making clear
that he did not agree with his church’s decision to honor Farrakhan with the Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Trumpeter Award. Issues of racism and anti-Semitism must be beyond the boundsof politics. When someone close to a political figure shows sympathy and support for an individual who makes his name
espousing bigotry, that political figure needs to distance himself from that decision. Senator Obama has done just that.”

We all know Farrakhan is Farrakhan. Cut from the cloth of his predecessors like Malcom X. To make his points to his supporters he’s disparaged whites calling them “blue eyed devils” and Jews “bloodsuckers.” But he’s an equal opportunity biggot.  But isn’t this just a tactic to make Obama look bad by having to go on record condemning another black man?  I think he came out looking good but I guess that’s what being President is about…Pissing off some for the betterment of the whole.

Jews hold the power.

Forget picking sides. Make a stand. I guess that’s too much to expect in politics though. I guess that’s why they call it “politics.”
