MARKETING MATTERS: Eli and Peyton Manning to become 2 Sports Athletes
Oreo recruits Manning Brothers to promote Double Stuff Racing League Ad campaign
Yesterday while watching Peyton and Eli Manning lead their respective teams into battle, America’s “First Family of Football,” made a shocking announcement that the brothers would become 2 sport athletes. You may have seen press conference which was carried live during the games to announce that the Mannings would become the first members of the Double Stuf Racing League (DSRL). With the support of their parents, Archie Manning, and proud mother, Olivia.
So what is the DSRL? Its Oreo Lick Racing, a competition where you take a Oreo Double Stuff cookie, a glass of milk and a friend or family member to race against. Aight i’m being silly but check the commercial below. As part of the Manning endorsement Oreo has initiated a nationwide instant win promotion, in which 10 lucky families will win a trip this July for a chance to compete in a DSRL match against these “pros.” The event will take place in New Orleans and the winner will receive the $10,000 grand prize.
Good marketing scheme and great association. Too bad older brother Peyton couldn’t hold up his end of the bargin like his younger brother and “MY QUARTERBACK.” T.O. stop crying.

Peyton manning has become the master of celebrity endorsements. It is only fair that he dragged little brother along for the ride. I bet 100-1 odds Eli takes Peyton. Lets go Giants!
Thanks for shedding light on this. I hadn’t seen a follow up to the teaser commercial on television. Double Stuff… Oreo continues to stay a relevant snack food.
