BLOGGING NEWS: Blogs for Life to hold 3rd Annual Conference. Time for Hip Hop to jump aboard.
Hip Hop and other industries should follow in the footsteps of the Pro-Lifers as welcoming of the blog community

Shouldn’t Bloggers Be Right Alongside these Reporters?
Tuesday, January 22nd the Family Research Council will hold their third annual conference for pro-life bloggers. Now I’m no way trying to advocate a pro-life stance but regardless of where you stand the Roe v. Wade issue, if you’re a blogger this is something to take notice of.
Those of you in the blogging community who are serious about your blogs are always in search of unique content and first hand information about whatever your blog niche is. In doing so you may have tried to secure media credentials to press related events but have been stoned at the door because you’re not considered “media.”
The Family Research Council for 3 years now has realized the importance of blogging as a viable and very important media form. Their Blogs for Life forum provides Pro-Life bloggers an opportunity to network, meet other activists and to grow in their knowledge of how internet technology can be used to strategically promote the cause but more importantly become part of the news making process.
Now obviously this is not quite yet the norm. But I hope that one day very soon Hip Hop and other industries that have a viable blog niche begin to consider a similar strategy. Imagine the utility of a Hip Hop Summit that welcomes the views of bloggers, who in essense are consumers, in some cases artists and students of the game. The industry would only benefit as a whole from their input as well as the wealth of internet media exposure generated by such an event. Good work Pro-Lifers….Hip Hop, playing catch up as always.
