MARKETING MATTERS: Pharrell Teams up With Louis Vuitton on Jewelry Line
The new line, called Blason will feature pieces ranging in price from $2,000 to over $600,000
While Kanye West may love his Louis Vuitton and be the self proclaimed “Don,” Pharrell Williams is getting checks. Three years ago Skateboard P successfully helped the fashion company design a line of sunglasses. Now the two parties have once again joined forces to launch a line of jewelry called Blason.
Alright I know what you’re thinking; What is it now with artists and the jewelry lines. Before it was clothing lines, now its jewelry. Williams is the second producer emcee in recent months to ink such a deal, in fact 2 months ago we hated on the announcement that the aforementioned Kanye had introduced such a line.
Williams will join forces with designer, Camille Miceli, on the Blason line, which will initially include four themes, and feature yellow and white gold, as well as diamonds according to Allhiphop.com. The pieces will range in price from $2,000 to over $600,000 and will be debuted in Paris on Jan. 21 with a worldwide Louis Vuitton store launch this spring.
I’m not one for the jew-els but I’d be interesting to see what P comes up with. He’s a creative kind of guy and his style might clash with the clean LV image which could be interesting. I’ll keep you posted.
