MARKETING MATTERS: Turning Your Blog into an Adsense Goldmine
How to optimize your blog with Keywords to garner higher revenue from Google Adsense Ads.

Although its not this easy it IS rather simple.
Our web stats show us that a large majority of the members of The Highbrid Nation are actually bloggers just like us. So this one’s for you. Pay attention and take notes. This is obviously much easier said than done but building your blog/website into a serious advertising revenue source is as very simple.
Make money through services such as Google Adsence are actually rather simple and formulaic but you have to be willing to optimize your content in order to do so. Notice I said optimize not change. In my many experiences as a media manager in my day job, our company Highbrid Outdoor does website appraisals for prospective clients. One of the most frequently asked questions is “Do I need to change the text on my site in order to have people click on my Google Adsense ads?” The answer is yes and no.
Yes because in order to make GOOD money through Adsense you need to use keywords in your blog posts or websites that are deemed top paying keywords. Google charges advertisers on a Price Per Click (PPC) basis. These advertisers place bids on keywords pertaining to their business competing against others jockeying for better placement in AdSense ads. Keywords that are in greater demand naturally will garner the highest bidding prices. THESE are the keywords you want to make sure you include in your content. When your visitors click on these ads Google will split the revenue with the host enabling you to receive up to $10.00 or more per click!!! Depending on your sites current optimization you might only be receiving a penny per click.
The great thing is you even need to flip the script on your format to make the high priced ads appear on your site. So in that sense the answer to the question is also NO. All you do is tailor a portion of each post you author to address issues dealing with your keyword. For instance, I recently read a great story on one of my daily reads about the deteriorating conditions in Brooklyn. The author discussed the crime rates, the increase of drug trafficking etc. But had the author, whose an Adsense subscriber, chosen to write this SAME POSTS but included a little bit about families loosing their homes due to debt and mortgages ($5+ per Click) he may have had some higher priced ads appearing on his blog. If ONE visitor decided to click on one such ad, he’d be looking at more money than he’s probably made in six months. Other high priced keywords include Medicine, Viagra and Life Insurance. There are lists of high priced keywords all over the internet.
Obviously don’t go crazy. In most instances you have worked hard to build your readership so don’t piss them off by going off on tangents about Mortgage rates or writing entire posts dedicated to Life Insurance. Even if you Google places ads on these posts the only way you make money is if visitors click and they won’t if the story is sh*t and off topic. Last word of advice is the Barry Bonds/ Mark McGuire/ Roger Clemens rule. Don’t cheat or you won’t be a Hall of Famer (like us.) Google is very savvy at sniffing out bogus clicks. On average only 1.5% of your site traffic actually will click on an Adsense ad. If your blogs rate is lets say 10% do to cheating, it raises red flags and Google may shut you down. Remember its not how many click on the ads its how much you get for the ones you do. Happy Earning.

Great Info!
Thanks for the advice. I just recently started using Google Adsense with blogging, and so far I only make mere pennies per click. When the Adsense cheque comes I only have enough cash to buy a bottle of rum to drown my “Google Sorrows”
Thanks to your advice maybe I will be able to afford 2 bottles of rum, or maybe I will get enough cash so that I need not drown my “Google Sorrows”
…thanks
