American Gangster: The Golden Boy?
American Gangster is up for Best Picture, but suprisingly Best Actor, too
The Golden Globe nominations were announced today and it is no suprise that American Gangster is nominated for Movie of the Year, but it is my suprise that Denzel Washington is up for Best Actor Drama.
The Golden Globes, the prequel to what’s to come for the Academy Awards, honors not only the Silver Screen, but honors the wonderful television also. This year huge hit that crossed all cultural lines was American Gangster. If you have not heard of this movie then you must be blind and deaf and should not be on this web site. American Gangster has it all; A great ensemble, great guest apperances, a great story (that is true) and the cinematography and editing was great. I am not the only one who thinks this ask around, but American Gangster also is up for: Best Actor: Denzel Washington, Best Director: Ridley Scott and Best Animated Movie (joking).
Personally I think No Country for Old Men is a close contender and American Gangster should win, but Atonement will take it.
