Nas reveals controversial song titles from “Nigger” Album

Posted by Juan

Insists that the project is not an attack on any one race

Nas

I have been scratching my head trying to see where Nas is going with this whole Nigger album. Admittedly, I’m still very baffled. Yall know me, I love controversy and the buildup he’s creating is just what Hip Hop has needed. He’s using his album as a soapbox. Watch…somehow it’ll make it as a topic during the presidential debates. They irony is that he NOW has to live up to the CONTROVERSEY. Not to many people can say that.

Well he looks like he’s on the right track. In a self-initiated interview with MTV News, Nas went in on some of his album concepts, producers and song titles that might surprise you more than the album’s.

“I have a song called ‘The Fear,’ ” he said. “The full title of the record is ‘The Fear of the Black Man’s D*ck.’ That’s some sh*t you can get comedy [from], or you can get some seriousness from it when you talk about the barbaric castrations that happened in our past — which is very serious, nothing to laugh at.” Nas did say that although the album title tends to infer that he’ll focus on the plight of the black man he emphasized that he is not singling out any one race.

“It’s about the attacks that have happened to blacks, whites, all ethnicities,” he continued. ” ‘Mick’ niggers, ‘guinea’ niggers, ‘kike’ niggers. I have a song called ‘You a Nigger Too.’ ”

Wow…this dude is really going in. He’s on some real crazy ish. I just hope he sticks to dropping true knowledge for cats and doesn’t jump on that metaphysical, psychoanalytical mumbo jumbo then say it was too deep for cats. Just don’t insult my intelligence.

If I were him I would work really closely with the label drop one single off the album and do my best to keep it from leaking because everyone’s going to want a copy. I know I do although I’ve never really been a Nas fan. If his album isn’t effective in ruffling everyone’s feathers at the very least he’ll sell a ton of albums.

“It’s all over the place,” he added. “Balance is so important because there’s a fun level to the [album] too. There’s an attractive, sexy, aspect to it; a stylish aspect, a flashy aspect. It takes negatives and makes them good.” Who cares about all that Nas…we want venom. Star and Buc are back in town…why not go there.

may be a little too soon to call for a Nas retirement but I do agree the ”hip hop is dead” didn’t live up to the hype. if you claim hip hop is dead you better back it up but resurecting it.

I feel you Tha 1st definately. Hip Hop was dead raised so many eyebrows and posed so many questions, offended so many people…but as an album was forgettable. I’m worried he’s going to do the same thing her. Its time to go for the jugular. Hell if retirement is calling I guess this would be the perfect statement to go out on.
