Star & Buc Wild to Return to NYC Radio with Pulse 87 FM
Duo joins Imus as the latest fired Shock Jocks to return to the airwaves after controversial firing
That’s right…The sultans of venom and kings of hatred are back in the Big Apple and slated to make their return to New York Radio. I know 4PL is dancing in his seat. Independent radio group, Mega Media Group, Inc. announced today that they are changing the format on their 87.7 FM frequency. But the introduction of the new station, Pulse 87 was dwarfed by their announcement of its headlining morning show and the return of the Star & Buc Wild.
The Star & Buc Wild Morning Show, for those of you who are unaware became wildly popular in New York from 2000 to 2006 because of its controversial urban shock jock leader, Troi Torain, professionally known as “Star”, and his messages of hate and controversy.
At their peak, the Star & Buc Wild Show was consistently one of the top-rated morning shows in New York City, at at one time in 2001 while at HOT 97 trumped “The Howard Stern Show.” Star would leave the station in 2003 one morning following a on-air tantrum. The show was later picked up and syndicated by Clear Channel and HOT 97’s rival, Power 105.1 in 2004. But in May of 2006, Star was fired for making lewd and racist comments about HOT 97’s DJ Envy’s wife and 4-year-old, daughter, who he said he wanted to urinate on. It was crazy. In the aftermath he was charged with child endangerment , charges that were later dropped.
“I am excited to return to the New York City airwaves and look forward to working with Mega Media Group and Pulse 87,” said Star. “Times have changed and I am ready to deliver the great entertainment that my listeners have come to expect from me, while also offering responsible social commentary. The Star & Buc Wild journey continues!”
In addition to the show, Pulse 87 will feature mixed programming, including pop, hip hop, dance, rock and top 40 hits. The Star and Buc Wild Show is tentatively scheduled to re-debut on January 15, 2008.

Star is coming back to crush the competition he was #1 when he left and he’ll be #1 when he returns and i’m glad he’s not going back to “urban” radio that kind of put him in a box. I hope he brings back the whole crew White Trash Helene, Killer Ka the New Bucwild, The old Bucwild his alleged half brother, DX21, and even Crossover Negro reese. I cant wait
